5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

Excellent boutique hotel without the price tag, set in gardens, away from Yangon noise.
Friendly and informative hosts who have helped us with all our travel plans.
They made our stay very comfortable.
Staff is very efficient.
Tasteful and clean accommodations.
Very good and generous breakfasts of fresh fruits and great omelettes or noodles.
Thank you for your kindness and gentleness,
I and R

Staff really friendly, lovely feel to the hotel. Good breakfast, fresh fruit and either a fish noodle soup or eggs. The area is pleasant walk around and certainly was one of ourpreferred hotels that we stayed in during our trip to Burma.

... because I really cannot understand their standards.

On a positive note, the embassy district is quiet. The manager is very sincere and friendly. The main house of the Classique is the photo featured (no, you'll not be staying there). Rooms go for anywhere from $50 to $150. I'd happily quote our price, but we were part of an organized tour, so that's difficult.

The main reason I rate them average is that although they knew we'd arrive late morning, they clung to that 2pm time like it was a law. In our town, if guests arrive early, one would find another room for them to shower and relax. No dice. We sat in the lobby for two hours waiting for the maid to arrive at 1, give the floor a quick mop, and ... what was the big deal?

The room was all wood and more-or-less clean. The air conditioner was on its last legs, so we cranked it up mid-afternoon, and came back to a cool-ish room late at night. Wifi is free, but only available in the lobby, so no dice in the room.

The neighborhood is a distance from town center, but cabs are cheap. It's about 3000 to the Central Railway and maybe 5000 to the airport.

This lovely Hotel is situated in the quiet Embassy district and has only 8 rooms. Each room had teak ceilings and impecable en suite facilities. The breakfasts were excellent ad the staff most helpful. They accept credit card payments.

Room Tip: Best rooms are on the 1st floor

We stayed in this hotel for our last night. It was never worth the 120dollars that we paid. It's very impressive on arriving, but you do not stay in the building in the photo, it is to the side. Lovely reception, staff very helpfull. The bedroom is small, furniture old and the bathroom is dirty, the bathmat had obviously not even been changed. In desperate need of renovation. It's in a quiet residential area and you need a taxi to go anywhere. The plus side was there breakfast, this was excellent and more than enough to eat. I would like to have shown photos of the bathroom, but no opportunity is given on the site

Room Tip: Sorry I would not recommend the hotel

I booked a room for 2 nignts at classique inn 6 moths ago for a stay in february (I wanted to be sure that rooms were available). The booking was confirmed. I just had to re-confirm 10 days prior to our arrival.

A few days ago, I received an e-mail informing me they were now able to receive payments online and asking me to pay the non refundable advanced full payment to secure the booking.
I tried immediatly but, I don't know why, the payment was declined by their bank at the last step of transaction.

I informed immediatly classique inn and i was answerd that, "unfortunately" the rooms were over booked on my dates so one of the 2 nights was no more available as I could'nt pay immediatly.

It's the first time that such a misfortune happens to me. I e mailed immediatly the other hotels of my trip and, fortunately, they all confirmed my bookings!

We stayed at the Classique Inn for our last night in Myanmar and it proved to be well positioned for a swift transfer to the airport.

The Hotel is in an upmarket residential district with many smart houses and a number of embassies nearby. In keeping with its surrounding the Classique is in a charming older house and tastefully furnished. We were asked to remove (and leave) our shoes at the door. Our room was upstairs, a good size, pleasantly furnished (wardrobe, desk, chair, table, 2 seater sofa, large 'fridge and comfortable king size bed). The TV was an older CRT design but did include CNN.

Service was good (a packed breakfast was provided at about 5:00 a.m.) and very polite.

The quiet location did have a downside, however, as it took us 15/20 minutes to walk to a restaurant for our evening meal.

I liked this hotel and would recommend it provided you don't mind the location. I have marked it at 4 because of the long walk to get an evening meal.
