We stayed a total of 4 nights at this beautiful Inn. If you prefer a quiet area this is the place. Kalya and her team are just wonderful and so welcoming, even before my trip Kalya was prompt in responding to my emails and assisted in planning my trip. We stayed 3 nights in Room 203:Bamboo Terrace which was just gorgeous, it was nice to come back from the hustle and bustle of Yangon to a tranquil setting. On one of our visits back to Classique, Kalya had upgraded us to the beautiful upstairs Teak room room 201 which was huge and just a beautiful as the Bamboo Room. The Inn is a little out of town but a taxi ride to town is only 2000/3000 kyats, from the airport to the Inn is around 7000 kyats. The breakfast is served in a gorgeous little courtyard.
If you are after somewhere for dinner DO NOT go to Alamanda Inn, the food was terrible, possibly the worst we had ever eaten and was quite expensive. Try Ginki kids instead which is only a 5 minute walk from Classique. They do great food, awesome cocktails and have a nice breezy area upstairs.

Room Tip: Upstairs room are well worth the money, make sure you carry one of their business cards as many taxi...

We were a group of 5 girl friends from Bangkok, Thailand. First time in Myanmar.

We hired an English speaking driver (Thant Zin, thantzin@gmail.com, +959 5097463) to show us around town and drove us to the Golden Rock. Actually, Thant Zin is highly recommended among foreigners. Very pleasant personality and bare a good sense of humour! His history and geography knowledge is beyond excellent and above of all, he is a very good photographer!!!

Our trip to the Golden Rock was great fun and we concluded our trip at Yangon. Our stay at the Classique Inn for 2 night was superb. The neighborhood is safe and there're nice restaurants nearby in a walking distance. Rooms are clean and well-equipped with fridge, hair dryer, and air-condition. Fresh towels are changed daily. Continental and local Myanmar breakfast served every morning in the garden.

And for Buddhists, this Classique Inn has nice and spacious Bhuddha room for pray. Free Wifi is available in the lobby and in-room (speed is acceptable for facebook/twitter but uploading photo might take longer.)

Only one flaw about this inn, the shower has no curtain, it was all soaking wet.

Staffs were also friendly and helpful. Highly Recommend!

My boyfriend and I have just returned from Burma. We stayed at Classique Inn for 2 nights at the end of our trip as we wanted to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

The room was quiet small but comfortable and very neat, however, the shower head was not built into the wall so we had to hold it which in my opinion was awkward. (We choose the room down stairs as it was cheaper than the upstairs rooms but go with the upstairs rooms if you have a bit more cash to play with). And the neighborhood judging by the grandiosity of the homes was extremely wealthy and we felt very safe walking the streets at night. It is a 10min taxi drive into the city (the staff at the Inn can organise this for you upon request) The cost of the taxi was approx 3000 kyats and will arrive in minutes of request (approx $3 AUD). The Inn can organize a limousine airport transfer ($40 USD) but this was a bit hefty for us so we chose to organize a taxi on arrival at the airport as there are plenty of taxi’s on arrival for $10,000 Kyats ($10 AUD). However, if you are nervous traveler who doesn’t feel comfortable/or prefers not too negotiates rates with local taxi drivers then absolutely take the limousine option.

If you get some time during the day take a short walk to Acacia Tea Salon (they have delicious tarts, croissants etc which we discovered on our Air Mandalay flight). Also in the evening if you desire a delicious cocktail or two at ‘Ginki Kids’ bar which is a short stroll from the Inn. You will find expats and young upper class locals who come here to socialize (it was very interesting to watch the interactions and to be in a air conditioned bar after walking around the city in 40 degrees heat all day).

I would highly recommend this Inn if you are a nervous traveler, enjoy a bit of luxury, and would like to be out of the hassle and bustle of the city (also not easily annoyed by the traffic into the city).

We stayed at the Classique for 2 nights at the beginning of the holiday and on our final night, so had a chance to stay in both the older building and the new one. While both rooms were comfortable and well (if simply) appointed, we preferred the Orchid Room in the new building, Beds were large and comfy and the bathrooms were clean and fine (albeit a bit dated) with plenty of hot water.

Breakfast in the shaded garden was lovely and relaxing. WiFi was a bit patchy, but we seemed to have a worse time of it on our Blackberries than other guests had with iPhones. Still, there is a desktop downstairs for guest use (free of charge).

Staff were friendly and helpful - and always available to arrange a taxi into town (about 2 USD). For us, the location in a quiet residential area was ideal, especially as getting a taxi was so easy and cheap...but as other reviewers noted, it may not suit everyone. There is a nice restaurant a 2-minute walk away (Alamanda Inn), but apart from that, the sights and restaurants are all a few minutes taxi-ride away.

I also agree with other reviews that their charge for the pick-up from the airport is silly (40USD...compared to the 10 USD we paid by simply hailing a taxi upon arrival).

We were referred to Classique Inn by another Inn that had no vacancy. We were very pleased with the friendliness of the Inn staff, cleanliness of the Inn, and the overall experience from reservation to check out. You need to bring crisp clean US money as it is the standard in Myanmar.

Kalya, the owner, was incredibly helpful in planning day's activities, answering any and all questions we had.

Room Tip: Choose a 3rd floor room, if you have a chance.

We travel quite a bit and are always interested in meeting local people, finding interesting accommodation and don't get to concerned if things go well.

My review echo's strongly the thoughts of linz_563

We stayed two nights in early March 2013, in the older house which has quite large, if dated rooms. The bed was comfortable and the washroom was a reasonable standard.

The hotel is located in a nice higher end residential area but it requires a taxi to get anywhere meaningful. The booking and assistance from the staff was exceptional before arrival. That said on arrival (almost midnight) there was quite a bit of confusion, but pleasant and helpful. The breakfast both english and local options were good.

Generally I would suggest independent travelers look closer to the city center for something that offers better value. Classique is reasonable, but I suggest not as reviewed. At $125/US a night for what would is an average B&B there is almost certainly better on the market. One thing I would strongly recommend against is the airport pick-up which was offered for 45US. When the standard taxi rate from the airport to the city is 10US. This is unacceptable traveller gouging!

In fairness I didn't put a lot of thought into these two nights, good luck!

We stayed here only 2 nights but loved the hotel, staff and the neighborhood... close enough to the main sights but quiet and quaint.
We booked rather late but we were accommodated in a downstairs teak room. It was fine for 2 nights.Clean, comfortable and great shower.
The staff at the hotel were great. I had brought a huge bag of medical items that I wanted to distribute in rural areas but didn't realize the travel restrictions it would cause so they recommended a local orphanage where I dropped off everything. They also suggested a great guide in Mandalay.. who we spent 2 days with that was absolutely excellent.
I was kind of absent minded and left shoes out front of the hotel... (they kindly ask guests to leave shoes outside) and they brought to the airport for us before we deputed to Mandalay.. this was at 7 in the morning! We were so grateful. This is a lovely boutique hotel in Rangoon. We were planning to stay on our way out but our flight from heho connected nicely to BKK.
I would definitely recommend to other travelers.

Room Tip: We had a downstairs room, which is all that was available. Not sure what upstairs is like, but we we...
