New venture aimed to capture revenue from the low to mid-range tourists. Building feels like a dormitory, but it is entirely new construction. Highlights: it is away from the Chinatown ghetto, in proximity of actual restaurants. Lowlights are incredibly slow elevators, not so good breakfast, or internet, or amenities. Bathrooms suffer from sewage smell due to faulty plumbing ventilation. Rooms sparely furnished, with no light blocking window curtains. If you're a 1st time visitor, seeing the Yangon sights for a couple days, and trying to do it cheaply, at least the Diamond Crown is a bit of a haven of sorts. Although rooms don't get street and traffic noise, note there is construction underway adjacent. There's parking under the hotel.
