“Had to be done”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Nothing really to look at, and we knew that, but it was something that had to be done, and I'm so glad we stopped off there for a photo-shoot. We also went to her childhood home which is now a museum dedicated to a father, General Aung San, it is small but you can go inside ant get a feel of it.

“An important site but hard to see from the road”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

Street traffic often prevents you from stopping to look at the home she was held under house arrest of over 15 years. It is an important historical site for the country but the high walls and traffic whizzing by make it difficult to achieve the contemplative state it deserves.

“Emotion”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

When you see it.. it's just a gate; if you know some history it's THE GATE. It was an emotion to stand in front of it.

“Not worth a special trip”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

Unless you have a special interest in the brave lady, this is perhaps worth just a brief stop - there's really nothing to see beyond a high security fence/gate system.

“Nobody Home”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

It's a thrill to be outside the home of the Nobel Peace Prize winner, but the capital has been moved a few hundred kilometers away so The Lady's away. Not much to see other than the picture of her father and the symbols of the National League for Democracy on display for viewing from the sidewalk.
