Don't be deceived by the dazzling glamour.

20000 kyats is simply exorbitant for substandard food and boring performances. The restaurant is enormous, with only 3 or 4 waiters running like headless chickens. Used plates piled up on each table. Food at the buffet area was not replenished fast enough and ran out due to the huge crowd of guests. Ice-cream melted and did not look so appetizing at all.

Performances were mainly Burmese traditional dances.

I would say it was the worst food we had tasted in Yangon during our 4-day visit.

“Don't go in for food”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Pretty from the outside but the park fees and mediocre food (which supports the government) make this a pass. Even the show couldn't take the sting out of giving the money to the Military.

“Great show, but not the food.”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

I love the cultural show!!!! The elephant dance was the best, the traditional dance was so beautiful. And for the comedy opera (something like singing with some act and a comedy based story line) was really hillarious even I could not understand Burmese!! Because their facial expression were really good and funny!!!

The food... Errr... So-so. Edible. Acceptable. Not much choices.

This Palace is a must see in Yangoon, It is very accessible and easy to find, from The Shwedagon pagoda complex,it would just take you more or less 15minutes by taxi, upon entering in the palace several well dressed burmese performer will welcomes you,the aisle going in the center of the palace is so picture perfect, the staff are very hospitable tourist, because even though I don't have a reservation for a buffet dinner they still be able to entertained me,they allow me to have the buffet dinner, the foods taste so great they are all worth to visit, while your eating various performance will entertain you, showing how beautiful there culture is,I could say that they have a cultural heritage which is very vibrant and colorful, from the way dress and even the performance well choreograph, for a traveler like me you wants to learn more about a country that they are visiting, this is a place to be.

“Includes the Myanmar Cultural Show and food buffet”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

A nice opportunity to get some snapshots with Myanmar people in traditional customs particularly, if you arrive a little early and have to wait for the opening of the palace. Don't be shy and pose with the girls and guys in customs. They are used to it :-)

The show is somewhat disappointing. Also the setup - two long halls with the stage at the narrow ends - is a disaster. Either you get a seat at the front tables or you are likely to see very little at all.

The food is plenty but rather just average. My recommendation: the traditional Myanmar desert. It is prepared in a separate corner in the buffet area and looks like folded crepe with (I think) coconuts splices.
