“Not a bad option”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

I recently stayed in this hotel for one night. I checked in this hotel based on the recommendation made by hotel reservation counter at the Yangon airport arrival area. I actually didn’t reserve accommodation in Yangon in advance and it was the only available option available in the town.
The quality of service at the hotel was not too good; there are some areas where the hotel management really needs to pay attention. For example, I observed a dozen of hotel staff standing at the reception without doing anything!! Also the hotel management need to remove OR improve the funny “notices” displayed in the rooms…..
I found the rooms quite and clean. The toilet was small in size however, it was at least clean. The towel I got looked used and dirty, the hotel management changed it anyway.
Breakfast was OK but the service was a bit slow and inattentive.
This hotel will not be my first choice if I visit ever Yangon.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the TV hall / bussiness centre located at first floor!

Hotels in Myanmar are sub standard compared to other places in Southeast Asia, and this hotel is a cut below the rest. It's overpriced, even for Burmese standards. There are better options in Yangon. We only spent a night here and did not care to go back, even though the staff was friendly (the great thing about Myanmar is that everyone is nice and helpful). Like most of the country, because demand is far ahead of supply, places like this can get away with unclean rooms at high prices.

I stayed here in 2010 for several nights and found it OK for $20, but this time around they were asking $30 for a dingy room (rooms haven't been maintained at all, they removed all the TVs and refrigerators from the rooms as well!) which I bargained down to $28. You could get a similar place in Cambodia or Laos in a major city for half of that. The staff was still as friendly as before, but once up on the 4th floor in my room, I had to ask the guys at reception TWICE to bring up soap, TP and towels. The first towel looked as it someone had used it to wipe their shoes, it was utterly filthy. Unfortunately for those of us who don't seek resort accommodation, hoteliers are riding the gravy train this year and most have jacked up prices that verge on ridiculous for what is on offer (I would hardly mind paying $30 or even $40 if the room was nice, clean and had decent amenities). I don't think I wil be staying here again on my next trip.

Room Tip: I'd recommend having a look at the room first, to see if you can tolerate such a place before pl...

Quite expensive by Asian standards, but this being Yangon where every hotel sees the new found influx of tourists as walking banks, this hotel offers acceptable value by new-Yangon standards. A few years ago this hotel would have been $10, but now 30 to 40 dollars.

Room Tip: A window room is a bit more expensive. The "emergency exit" on the 3 floor is double locke...

Stayed here for my last few days in Burma. The location was ideal very close to the market etc.
My standard room seemed ok, clean and the air con worked. At the time, February 2012, the price was no different to what i was paying elsewhere.
They answered emails very quickly before arriving which was the problem with Burma.
I would chose the place more for the location which was ideal very close to the market etc than anything else and only for a few days.

Paid $45 for a double front room on the 2nd floor. Could not get air con to work properly, no towels, no hot water. But nice breakfast, helpful reception staff, and wonderful location for station and town. But try not to think about the fire risk.

Our room at Beautyland II was comfortable: fan, A/C, in-room shower, TV. No window (sigh). There is a nice lounge for guests where you can hang out and use wifi. Breakfast was nice and they have their own restaurant (which we didn't try). Travel advice was non-existent.
