Our hotel was just across the street and our room overlooked the great beautiful lake. Sunrise and sunset views were amazingly beautiful! My mum and I also went to have dinner at a Thai restaurant by the lake. Good food and nice ambiance.
stayed at Pristine Lotus resort which is a beautiful location. A boat trip to the fishing villages, eye opening. the people are lovely and for a change there is no hard selling at places of interest where we stopped e.g. Silk & lotus weavign workshop, silver smith, metal workshop. The meals at the resort were expensive but found a lovely family run restaurant very near Pristine called 'Family Restaurant' which was basic but clean and cheap homemade food, freshly prepared.
With increased tourism one can see the lake getting more polluted with the motor boats used for the tourist trade, which I am sure will affect their fish stock and fishing.
The floating farms on the lake are unusual too.
As long as there's a lake anywhere is the same. Be it Asia or other parts of the world. Sunrise or sunset is perfect because of the reflection from the lake.
We stayed at the Myanmar Treasure Resort on the lake for 4 days. The views are exceptional at sunset. Day trip around the lake a must.
Walked around the lake at sunset one night when we had a few minutes to spare. A nice pleasant and relaxing location that provided a spectacular sunset for us to photgraph.
There is nothing special about this lake - it is clean and well maintained, however not really pretty to be worth a special visit. Popular for young pairs to watch the sunset.
Maybe good for a short jog if staying at Meliá or Sedona hotel, but that's it.
