We stayed only twelve hours before arising way too early for a flight to Bagan, but the hotel met every need. I stayed three nights last year and noticed a little change this year. First of all, the wifi in room, on your own device, is free now with an excellent signal. The rooms are clean with nice bathrooms and the usual hotel amenities. Service is great at the desk. Two elevators mean little waiting. The hotel provided a much-appreciated breakfast box for our early check-out. The only strange event which shouldn't detract from the hotel itself was changing money which is offered now by two competing companies down the hall past the shops. I couldn't believe the clerk who changed my totally new, unblemished, crisp hundreds. She examined both sides of each bill, not once, but twice, and then...I kid you not...she sniffed each bill. I'm still wishing I'd gotten out my phone and taken a video of her actions. She refused answering questions. I'm still shaking my head.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pagoda if you are staying long enough to enjoy it.

Huge, hulking soul sucking edifice, devoid of any charm, and rather threadbare to boot. Staff is friendly however, and enough English is spoken to cope. Excellent massage at little spa operation on second floor. Lots of dog action on backside rooms at night. Rather mediocre breakfast. There must be a better option in Yangon (hotel chosen for us by bike tour company).

Our room was a good size, clean, with comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was looking a bit old, but was clean, with a power shower and plenty of hot water. Toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities and fridge included. Reception, bar and restaurant staff friendly and helpful. There is also a swimming pool at the back.
The breakfast buffet was the best we had during a 3-week tour of Myanmar; plenty of choice for vegetarians, hot or cold food on offer, with juice, tea and coffee.
We enjoyed sitting on the terrace, in the evening, with a drink or coffee; bar snacks can be ordered here too. We also purchased pastries from the bakery selection.
The hotel is close to the Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
Front rooms can be a little noisy, with the traffic and, occasionally, music from the park, but this stops at an early hour and did not prevent us sleeping well.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back may be quieter, but won'd have the Shwe Dagon Pagoda view.

The prices just keep rising on Yangon yet refurbishment greatly lags. One hotel needs to take the plunge here!

Pros
Business style hotel with international restaurants close by (strongly recommend Coriander Leaf)
Clean
Decent service

Cons
Something must be done about the packs of dogs howling all night

Basic rooms in need of refurbishment. Bathrooms also require a facelift. Breakfasts were okay but not much variety of food.Lacking in the provision of fresh fruit juice, poor selection of fruit, hot food not adequately kept hot and poor quality bread and pastries. Friendly service from staff who were very anxious to please and very polite. Laundry service. was super efficient. Pool area was bare. It needed some greenery and shade. Location was good.

Room Tip: Rooms with views of Shwedagon Pagoda probably the best.

I stayed at Summit Parkview for around 10 hours after arriving at night. My stay was so-so. The room I stayed it had a view of the Shwedagon Pagoda. However, it was a little old, a little musty; so was the bathroom. Still quite comfortable. The only downside was that my bathroom's cold water wouldn't work, so I had to have my bath only in hot water!

The room rate has doubled in less than a year but nearly everything else is much the same. Deluxe rooms are functional and reasonably comfortable with clean bathrooms and reliable air and hot water. There is a nice spacious work-desk and comfortable sitting chairs. Nothing has changed here. The buffet breakfast is now a lot more busy that occupancy rates are above 70 or 80% but the quality and range of food is still good. Nothing has changed there. Service is still friendly and adequate although the demands on staff are higher with more guests. I am happy to see that there is now free wifi in the rooms and hotel lobby. It's a reasonably speedy connection too especially during the evenings. This is an improvement. Also there are new or renovated restaurants within short walking distance. Black Canyon, Singapore's Kitchen and a trendy Indian restaurant are right next door. Or a short taxi ride has you downtown for a wider range of eating options. For business travellers the Summit remains pretty much all you could ask for. For tourists wanting a stylish flavour of Myanmar, there are other more desirable accommodations around Yangon town. But the proximity to the Shwedagon Pagoda is a big plus, as is the ease of access to the airport and downtown areas. If you book through a local agent you might save 25-30% on the room rate compared to booking online with the hotel.
