“Historic home”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

Old-english influence to this traditional home which was HQ to General Aung San prior to his assasination in 1947. His son drowned on the premises. Each room holds treasures of the era. Entrance is almost free! - about $1US.

“Make sure you take local Kyats.”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

One of the only places i found that did not take US$, which was unfortunate, because I walked there only to find out I could not get in. Since I couldn't get it, I can't comment on the museum itself, but there appeared to be no other tourists there, and for a Saturday that is unusual. Seemed like there might not be too much to see inside.

“Interesting but not a highlight”

The family home for several years which shows how simply the family lived. But there is not a lot to look at.

“Family home of General Aung San, now a museum/restaurant”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Unless you're a big fan of General Aung San and his family this is probably worth skipping. There is restaurant and bar (seemingly only locals at the bar) but the food is also forgettable.
Upstairs there are family memorabilia, the general's desk and typewriter and lots of photographs.

“Aung Sun's home”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

interesting to see where the man who led Burma to independence from Britain lived with his young family before he was assassinated at the age of 32. His daughter, nobel laureate Aung Sun Sui lived there as a young child.
