Stayed few times in MiCasa Hotel Apartments during business trips in Yangon. MiCasa have just the pretended standard of a services apartments.
Especially for expat on business trips in Yangon, short or long term, you get fully furnished apartments, to make you feel like home. High standard decoration, furniture, large LCD screen TV in the living room and master bedroom. International Satellite channels. Housekeeping is good. very clean.

As Myanmar has just opened its door to outside world, nothing high was expected out of my visit there.

The Micasa hotel for one and only reason was chosen because it is the only hotel that serves Halal food.. which turned out to be very convenient for me as a muslim.

The room is adequately spacious, with kitchen. The bathroom is next to wardrobe area which is also quite convenient.

The food has not many choices. Is its not for the Halal tag, I would not recommend the food.

The internet connection is way too slow, but hey.. its Myanmar guys..

The staff is unexpectedly very very friendly.. they will help you with everything ..

I would recommend this hotel if you are a muslim travelling for business and with family

While traveling for work in March 2012, I had a very difficult time finding a decent hotel in Yangon because of the number of international visitors coming to Myanmar at the time. When going back for another trip, I booked at the MiCasa in advance for about four weeks and just loved it. I was given a lovely room with lake view, and i could make my own meals! The Bring Me grocery store in the parking lot is a great help, and so are the staff who service your apartment, and the staff at the gym downstairs. I only wish the swimming pool could be bigger and internet would cost lesser.

Room Tip: please ask for rooms that face the lake

It can be better compare to its value. Mi Casa is expensive compare to the services, but it's a common problem in Yangon actually.
The Staff it's ok, kind and smiley. Internet works very bad, you have to go to the Tapas Bistro and ask to the barman to have the wifi key of Tapas Bistro to have a decent web surfing!
Anyway it's a good place where you can stay if you are travelling for business like me.

It's a service apartment style running by Malaysian (or Singaporean I'm not sure). The manager stay in 2nd floor of the building also.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well-equipped. All kitchen are well-equipped also, with fridge, rice cooker, coffee maker and all kind of cooking apparatus and stove. It's definitely a nice place for long stay with family.

The swimming pool open from morning to 9pm, not big but it's good enough in Myanmar. Gym is available also.

They have a restaurant here. If you don't like the local food then the Malaysian style food is definitely your good choice. The cooks are Malaysian too!

Wifi only available at lobby and restaurant area. In room, they give you cable so you have no problem of getting good internet if you bring your laptop.

The service is very good, they clean your room everyday, they will come only when you are out. Besides cleaning up the room they also tidy up your personal belonging. If you drop any clothes on the floor they pick it up, fold it nicely and arrange nicely in the wardrobe. They serve different food for buffet breakfast everyday. But of course some common food are always there everyday. All staff speak good english.

They even have currency exchange service but the rate is not as good as some other places.

All the above are positive comments and now come the only negative review. PRICE. 3 unit of apartment, 1 unit with 3 rooms and another 2 unit with 2 rooms. A total of 7 person cost 900USD per night. I was travelling for work so I don''t care but this might be too expensive for tourist. Besides, they do not accept credit card. I was here during the period Obama visited Myanmar so I'm not sure if it is no credit card permanently or only for that period only.

Talking about food, I settle all my meals here because I was too lazy to go out. People here don't speak english so it's hard for everything. Still the same issue, price. A lunch or dinner is around 18-25USD, a high tea for 10USD, a beer at 5USD, a lasagne cost 18USD.

Personally I think this is expensive but after some consideration I will still recommend this if you can afford it. This is Myanmar and they are not as modern like Thailand or Malaysia. You hardly found wifi anywhere in town, hardly found someone who can understand your language. Here they can help you in everything you need.

As the prices of hotels in Yangon have skyrocketed beyond imagination, paying USD200+ for a simple room no longer comes as a suprise to me. I have been to Yangon about 5 times, staying in different places everytime and yet, this hotel, despite only being slightly above average, is close to my heart because of the Malaysian and Singaporean food served on the premises. Apartment styled rooms here are dated, although not in a bad way. They are also huge, especially for the single apartment rooms. I never used the kitchen facilities provided, so can't comment on that. Location is right by the main road, easy to get from place to place by taxi. The hotel doesn't accept credit cards except a Japan issued credit card (as of January 2013), so it isn't the most convenient thing to carry cash to pay them. Otherwise this is a fairly decent hotel to spend a few nights in, for business or holiday.
