Enjoyed a good stay here. The rooms are well decorated with good furniture and comfy beds. The garden is pleasant and the golden glow of the Shwedagon pagoda is a stunning sight in the evening. Staff were friendly and efficient.

The hotel needs to work to improve its wifi strength as at certain times, and particularly in areas of the lobby, it can be near impossible to access the internet. At other times the signal strength is ok.

One improvement to the bathrooms would be the addition of locally sourced natural soap as opposed to the current chemical liquid soap on offer (the dispensers didn't work).

All in all a good stay and would recommend. Negotiate on price!

The Hotel has a wonderful garden and pool area. The rooms facing the lake are a Little quieter, but compared to living downtown yangoon it is still a quiet and green place. The Hotel is not new, but in good condition. Our room was nice. The Food at the Chines restautant was very good and the Overall Service was very attentive. Unfortunately they did not accept credit Cards when we stayed there, but I understand they are trying to get this arranged in the near future.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the lake

I did not expect much from this hotel, as past experiences with Yangon's hotel was bad. This one however stood out, as the hotel Kandawgyi is nicely located, well appointed, with excellent service, nicely decorated rooms. Very good value for money. Be reminded that credit card are seldom accepted!

bad first impression: we arrived around 5pm, after a long day in the heat of Yangon, and had to wait for half an hour for our room (to be cleaned!!) ...
we wanted to relax at the swimmingpool, but were welcomed by a birthday poolparty for 20 kids of 10years old... noisy, running around and monopolising the pool. tomorrow better...
quite night, very nice breakfast buffet, but... when arriving at the pool, the staff was preparing a big honeymoon with the tables just next to that pool, without forgetting the discjockey who was convinced of our deafness ( or maybe that this deafness came afterwards...).
This is not what we expect of a palace in such a marvellous setting, at the lake...
A hotel of standing should be aware of the needs of his normal customers...
to be complete: the staff was very kind and helpful!

Room Tip: at your own risk....-)

Could not have a better location in Yangon, providing a great lakeside setting, away from the snarling traffic. Breakfasts memorable, the several interconnected swimming pools offering a welcoming end-of-day relief, and staff fall over themselves to be helpful -- though their English reflects the years of isolation, it often taking several attempts to converse. Another negative was the loud music most nights -- but overall, I would not hesitate to stay there again.

A delightful room. Great gardens to walk around. Wonderful view of Schwedagon Pagoda. Great location for Sule Pagoda and city center. The restaurant had a great buffet of local cuisine which gave us a chance to sample Myanmar food on our first night. Breakfast was awesome!

I have been spending 4 days/nights on a business trip. Hotels are not cheap in Yangon so please consider. Also only cash (USD or local money) is possible so NO american express, visa or mastercard payments are possible in the hotel
I would like to point out that a room facing the lake will be the best option (the walk inside the park and around the lake is quite good). Hotel is well located.
I will avoid the rooms from room 103 to 130 and the corridor is quite noisy.
A/C is running very strongly in the hotel lobby so I will take appropriate clothes to avoid falling sick.
Breakfast is OK.
I will be back

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lake on 2/F or 3/F . Not rooms located from 103 to 130 as quite noisy
