I stayed at the Park Royal Yangon for one evening in mid-February. This is my second hotel in Yangon, as my favorite, Trader's Hotel, is fully booked for the date that I want. The hotel actually surprises me a bit with a nice exterior, a nice lobby, and a small shopping center attached to the hotel. The check-in was efficient and the agent explained all the privileges that came with my Premium room. I booked this package because it offered complimentary wifi, breakfast, upgraded room, free mini bar (limited to soft drinks, orange juice, bottled waters, beers, kit kats and chips), and a few other non-essential items. The room is pretty good in terms of size. The bathroom is clean but the bathtub showed its age. It can definitely use a touchup. The bed is comfortable and most of the staffs are friendly. I still think the price is too high for this standard. With $300 room rate, I expect a bit more than a typical hotel chain stay. However given the lack of decent hotel rooms in Yangon, the price situation will not change much in the future. Also please note that this hotel like most 4 and 5 stars hotel charges a credit surcharge and it does not accept American Express. US dollars is definitely accepted here but remember to bring fresh new bills. They really scrutinize each bill and exchange some fresh unfolded US dollar bills will save you lots of troubles.

I did not want to stay there from the beginning but all other hotels were busy. But anywere, if you need to stay overnight - i is not the bad variant. Everything you can need - you will definetely find there. The breakfast was ok and various.

I stayed in Parkroyal Yangon during one of the conferences I was attending in Yangon. The service as excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

The food was really nice and the swimming pool was quiet and good.

The charges are bit on the higher side but I believe this is generally the case with all hotels in Yangon (specially after the lifting of sanctions).

Luckily I booked sometime ago when rates were far cheaper as this hotel has nearly tripled in price as Yangon booms. I had a standard room without breakfast. The room was very well fitted out. Large flatscreen TV with a very good range of channels, especially movies. Bathroom was a bit old though with chipped travertine and mouldy grout. Very good service from the minute I checked in. I must admit I was worried if my 'old rate' booking would be accepted. It was, no problem.

Great location for walking to the markets, station and general street life. A couple of great places to eat nearby, but be warned the pastries are addictive!

The hotel is walking distance to a few sites in Yangon and has good facilities. The rooms are clean and comfortable, service is polite. The breakfast buffet is good with wide range of western and asian food. Due to limited tourist infrastructure in Myanmar, hotel of this quality is quite rare and quality/service are not not comparable with hotels of the same star rating/price in other countries, therefore we had a nice, satisfactory stay at the hotel.
