On arrival to the hotel, we were escorted to the executive floor to check in in comfort, away from the hustle of the main reception. Walking through reception, you get the colonial style of the hotel.
Our room was large with a French balcony. As executive floor residents, we benefited from use of the lounge: tea, coffee, soft drinks , biscuits and snacks were available all day. Scones were on offer for afternoon tea, leading to a happy 2-hour of cocktails, wines and hot and cold buffet foods in the early evening. Not the widest choice but perfect for a Pre dinner snack.
The pool area is verdant and pleasant. The pool itself is large enough to do laps for the ardent swimmer but rather fresh for those who don’t like the cold.
The gym overlooking the pool was well stocked with equipment but was a little too hot and attracted mosquitoes .
Breakfast was served in an elegant colonial style room with outside sitting available. The breakfast buffet was extensive with south East Asian choices as well as traditional western fare. A chef is at hand to make egg dishes on request.
