“good business hotel”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

Rooms are spacious , well appointed and I was pleased with the view on the Shwedagon Pagoda in the horizon. Internet working fine. Always good and efficient response when dealing with staff.
Traffic is intense around the hotel, but not much they can do about it. There are some site building works behind the hotel causing some noise at night.
Note to the management:you need to get bigger safe so it fits at least an Ipad, if not a computer.

Room Tip: try to get a room on the Shwedagon side.

I would highly recommend staying at the Traders Hotel. We arrived very, very early in the morning. However, the moment we stepped out of the taxi, staff were extremely helpful and kind. That kind of hospitality was experienced throughout the visit. The rooms were well kept and clean. Beds were soft and comfortable. I would certainly go back.

Trader's has the old world charm as soon as you enter the foyer, the sweeping staircase, the stunning murals, kalaga (tapestries), comfortable sitting area.
The location is very convenient for visitors, e.g.Scott's market, the Old Colonial buildings, Sule Pagoda, and the marvelous Shwedagon.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great views of the city surrounds. Breakfast selections in the Lounge downstairs is excellent with good service.
My favourite is Trader's Club 'happy hour' with its comfortable, quiet lounge/reception area is a relaxing way to check in and unwind with a glass of your favourite drink chatting with my traveling friends.

Room Tip: The air conditioner temperature couldn't be adjusted to my preference.

I stayed in the hotel the day after the bomb exposed in the hotel. Though the check-in was delayed and there are security check points in the hotel, staff maintained very good services.

Hotel room is standard, clean and tidy. The breakfast is good. The location of the hotel is excellent as it locates at the centre of downtown. It is walkable to several tourist attractions. The wireless is fast and free. If you stay in club floor, you can see very good view of Yangon from the lounge.

However, the number parking spaces of the hotel is limited. They advised people to park in rail station which is very far away. The number of parking spaces are so limited that if your friend come to pick you up, they cannot stay long in front of the hotel. Also, the room rate is not cheap.

Room Tip: If you have money, stay at club floor. The lounge has great view.

Luxury stay in a luxury hotel. It was close to a lot of sites including Scott Market and Chinatown. All within a good walking distance. Great breakfast on offer. You could not find fault in staying here.

This is the only four or five star hotel that offers all of the amenities of a national hotel chain. Yes the Strand and Governors Residence are four star hotels, but if you want to have large breakfast buffet (one of the best), health club with sauna, steam etc., swimming pool and a club level it is your only choice. It is well located right in the middle of town opposite the major market. Just walking around the block from the hotel you find yourself in the middle of street life in Yangon; a very unique experience. The club level is very good, large, and great views of the city.
