“Convenient, safe hotel in Yangon”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

This hotel was comfortable and safe in Yangon. I am not sure of how centrally it was located as we had a driver take us everywhere, so I suppose it does not matter too much. We noticed the higher floors have been renovated (where we were staying) -- the rooms are nothing spectacular, but comfortable with modern amenities such as flat screen TV, free wifi, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. DELICIOUS and wonderful breakfast -- you have so many options and it is all wonderful. Probably one of the better hotels in Yangon.

Stayed here xmas 2012 with my family for 3 nights. We loved it. Very good breakfast, best beds ever - we had club rooms on 19th floor facing Swedagon. Worth it! Nice w high speed wifi. Very good location and excellent service.

Lovely friendly and accommodating. Arrived early and apologized room wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. Renovations still in process but didn't find the noise a problem. Both the hotel website and on Agoda under important notices alerts visitors ofnthe work in progress. Would definitely stay here again. Didn't eat in the hotel except for one time and it was of a good standard.

Room Tip: 7th flooring newly renovated had a lovely room with a side window facing the Sule Pagoda.

Lovely hotel in great position but undergoing a lot of renovation work at present, *which we were not informed of) and after 36 hours of travel, could not sleep as so noisy. Also unable to use pool because of renovations - again not advised or compensated. Staff very good as was service. No fresh orange juice.

Room Tip: Rooms quite small for type of hotel. Ask for plenty of water as not enough provided in room. Lots o...

I normally stay in the Shangri-la group's flagship hotel on Hong Kong Island, so was not sure what to expect of the group's lower range Traders brand. Despite being in Yangon (which is struggling to cope with a spike in demand and has poor infrastructure) and being the group's poorer cousin, Traders manages to achieve everything you need. We stayed on the Club floor in newly renovated rooms equipped to international standard. Wifi was quick and trouble-free. The temporary Club lounge had super breakfast buffets and perfectly adequate light meals throughout the day. The central air conditioning was cold and temperature control consistent (no mean feat when you see the strange surge protector or current converter electric boxes in ALL other more basic hotels across Myanmar). The location is convenient for business and a short walk from Scott market. Service was excellent. We stayed in the Savoy at the start of our October trip and the Traders at the end of it, and much prefer the latter. When we could not get a room at the Traders for our November trip, we almost cried (and that was before we spent the night at the awful New Aye Yar hotel). So book Traders early and be happy!

My family and I just finished a trip around Myanmar, bookended by nights at the Traders Hotel. We had a very comfortable stay both times. The service was excellent and the kids enjoyed a dip in the pool after the morning at Scott Market.

Room Tip: Ask about ongoing renovations

Stayed here after a tour around Myanmar and was at the gov residence at the front end of trip. Gov residence was full so unable to book again. Thought my wife and I would be very disappointed after we loved the gov residence. Traders was a great property with the renovations. Also offered us a different location to explore. Breakfast buffet was great and service was very good. Highly recommend. Not as charming as other properties but has the comfort of a nice Westin or Sheraton property.
