This was an exquisite experience in every sense.
Staff were wonderful, welcoming, gentle, helpful and fun!
Food was Michelin star quality.we enjoyed the best Tasting Dinner compliled by Ian the chef for New Year's eve .. it was first class
The trips, drivers, guides arranged were well organised and the guides informative -one even took us to a family Burmese Wedding, where we ate icecream with the happy couple at 8.30am!
Go go go to Burma as soon as possible!

Room tip: I had one of the best massages ever .. 25 $ for 1.5 hours .. bliss!

The Governor's is THE spot if you want a luxurious, relaxing, and charming hotel in Yangon. The grounds are beautifully manicured and landscaped, the sapphire pool offers a respite from the heat, and the teak construction is totally unique. If you want to splurge, this is the place to stay. The location is not too bad as taxis around Yangon are cheap. The rooms are very clean, with great ambiance. At the Kipling bar you can kick back to a great cocktail, too.

We were originally booked to stay here, but changed our booking to the Sedona. We did drop by here though for lunch. Its a lovely old wooden building - reminded me of the inside of Raffles in SIngapore, excellent & helpful staff - lunch was delicious - a nice mix of local & european; some nice artwork on display, and fabulous washrooms. From the look of the residents its an hotel which attracts the older/more mature crowd (maybe driven by the cost). Well worth a visit for lunch or afternoon tea.

Room tip: Sorry - didnt stay here, just dropped by for lunch - but that was excellent, so I would suspect that the rooms are good...

This hotel is the perfect entry and exit point to and from this magical country. Its beautiful, compact and comfy with a great pool, gorgeous teak floored and spacious bedrooms with really comfy beds and a sophisticated kitchen, even a lovely shop. So just the job if you have come off a long haul flight or are returning to Yangon after some time in simpler accomodation up north. Wonderful service too. Can't fault it!

A great hotel in a nice location.

All the staff were very helpful.

The food in the hotel is expensive in comparison to local restaurants but is worth trying as it is excellent.

One small let down was the very poor standard of the packed breakfast supplied if you had to leave the hotel early - not even a small bottle of water included.

Room tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel hace more privacy.

Mingalar bar from the Gateway to the Golden Land & thank you for writing,we have noted your remark on the Breakfast box and it has been revised,we now feature a great little rattan bag with plenty of choices including bottled water.

Hope to have you back here sometime so you can see for yourself.
