I was impressed with the facial expression of this resting Buddha. I was amazed at the devotion of the people that were visiting. I found the people selling food outside interesting, as well. There were some people who started talking with us and they were curious because they have not seen many American tourists.

The longest reclining buddha in Burma - definitely worth a visit - see the inscriptions on the Buddhas feet - very cool

This site was included in my site seeing tour in Yangoon. From the outside, the building does not seem impressive but the statue of reclining Buddha was estonishing. It is perhaps better than the one I saw in Bangkok.

It was an eye-opener to visit this pagoda with its famous reclining buddha. The reclining buddha is beautifully bejeweled and painted with golden leaves. Very impressive.

An enormous, attractive, reclining Buddha, only 50 years old, well worth the trip. There is a viewing platform at the foot end, giving good views of the amazing carving of 108 panels with apparently major significance in Buddhism on the soles of thestatue's feet.
