From the first communication with Mr Min Thet, of Myanmar PLG travel, I felt that I am dealing with a responsive, serious and committed  service provider. A long series of E-mails followed and our itinerary for our 8 day tour of "Classic Myanmar" has been finalized. Again and again, with a lot a perseverance,  Mr Min tried to fulfill all our specific wishes regarding accommodation, flights and tours.
On arrival in Yangon airport the promised car, driver and guide were on hand to welcome us. From this moment on everything ticked like a Swiss clock: services were on time and our special requests were always followed with a smile.
We are very happy to recommend the services of this company to everyone who would like to tour Myanmar in safety, comfort and peace of mind.

It was my short and first visit to Yangon. I was travelling alone and was kind of nervous.

I found PLG through tripadvisor so I decided to contact them and told them what I wanted to see and do in 3 days.Mr Min Thet(tour operator) replied me with lots of useful information that I even did not think about it.He helped me to organize my tours and recommended some good attractions.

Mr Min showed up at the airport with his smiling face,I could see him from far away. Then I continued my trip with Mr Jo(driver). Mr Jo was so friendly and helpful. He was also very careful about his driving. He stopped whenever I wanted to take pictures. He also recommended me some nice and clean Thai restaurants. As I told him that I prefered only Thai food,I was afraid to try the local food.

We started from city tour half day in Yangon. The second day we went up north to Bago,2 hours drive. Then we ended our trip at Shawedagon Pagoda, the must see. Last day I had shopping at Aungsan or Scott Market. Make sure you bargain,I was not that good:)
For temple tours, you better wear flipflop as you will have to take shoes off every single temple and walk bare feet.

Only one thing that I missed,I did not take local tourist guide as I considered myself as an independent traveller. But there are so many things and details to learn.

I would recommend LPG Travel and Tours to all of my friends who plan to visit Myanmar.

I just returned from Myanmar and would like to share some of my experiences. They are not very different from other reviews but I feel that I have so enjoyed others reviews of Myanmar that I would like to add something. I went on my own April 28, 2012 to May 5. I booked with avia travel, berkeley, California. Air and domestic was separate and I thought very reasonable. I got a visa on arrival, meaning I scanned my passport page with my picture and sent it to avia travel 3 weeks prior to my departure. They sent me 3 pages in Burmese which I downloaded and then went to the airport with. At LAX they gave me problems when I showed them the 3 pages because they said "this can mean anything and you can be deported when you get there so we cannot have you leave Los Angeles". For some reason I took this in stride. I was calm, rational, and after awhile they came up with with a paper they wanted me to sign that said I would not sue the airline if I was deported. I signed it. When I got to Yangon, no problem. There was a desk that had a sign "Visa on Arrival" and it took 5 minutes to get my visa. I was out of the airport in 5 minutes. My trip was short and it is not for everybody, but I liked it. I arrived inYangon, and my driver and guide took me to the Panorama hotel. Pretty good hotel (air conditioning. TV with several channels, breakfast, staff spoke English). I gave them my $1,045.00 in crisp dollar bills and we went sightseeing. This was for hotels, airfare throughout Myanmar, and car and driver. The following day I was picked up at the hotel and taken to the airport to depart for Bagan, with Yangon Airway( a 60 minute flight?). Flight normal but landing bumpy. At Bagan I was greeted by another guide. More personable than the one I had at Yangon, and we headed off to the market and stupas. The hotel in Bagan, "Paradise Inn" was not great (poor lighting, bathroom inadequate) but it did have a wonderful area for eating, and views of the stupas. Bagan was a magical place.. The following day I flew to, Inle Lake, which I would consider the highlight of the trip because it was nothing like I have ever seen. The people on Inle Lake lived on houses on stilts, they used boats for transportation, they had farms growing tomatoes that were on the lake. The following day I flew back to Yangon, went around on my own, and then flew back to Los Angeles.. Overall this trip was very special. I met a lot of wonderful people. One of the highlights was going to someone's house whose 9 year old son was going to be a monk. The house was filled with friends and relatives, chatting, watching TV, eating. I am back in Los Angeles but I still think about Myanmar.

Warm friendly people, safe to travel even on one's own.
Tip, take your medication with you, not too easy to get what one is used too.
Bagan a must see, Kakku & Inle lake too. Sagar the sunken stupas a day trip while at Inle lake, & so is Kakku. Enjoy this wonderful country before it's too late.
