“Good service ~”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Its a hotel of very good service, staff are all very friendly and nice. Location wise was just in the alley of a city area. Walking distance to sule pagoda and the railway. The room was very clean and tidy, just nice for 3 pax.

Dear PEili K,

You certainly placed a smile on our face complimenting the staff, our pride.

As you said, an alley location but a great convenience for transportation.

The joy of your visit is well described in a few words.

The location of this small two star hotel is on a side street off of the main road making it quiet(er) than if you were downtown. Though it’s a 10 minute drive from downtown there are a few sights within walking distance of the hotel that I thought were a good introduction to Yangon: the Schwedagon temple, local street markets(one on Old Yay Tar Shay Street) and the Kandawgyi Park/Bogyoke Park.

The rooms in the hotel are simple and functional with a reasonably firm bed. It was relatively clean with the exception of a mildew smell in the bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful though most of them had a problem comprehending English. Wifi is available though it is slow like most of Myanmar.

Breakfast (included in the price of the room) is served on the top floor in a beautiful view of the city. Unfortunately it is cold, overcooked and inedible. On a good note if you have an early plane to catch they will provide a meal to take away which includes a boiled egg, jam sandwich, a banana, and a bottle of water.

For a one or two night stay this economy hotel may suit you if you find a good price. Compared to other hotels in Yangon I didn’t think $75/night was reasonable.

Room Tip: Book a top floor if you can. The views and noise buffer are worth it. I prepaid the room with Ag...

Dear one_pilgrim,

As our country is rapidly changing, our increased tourist curiosity and expected hospitality is also changing. You described us well in your most kind way which will enable us to understand your specific needs in this congested city.

Sometimes it is best to eliminate what may be culturally rude to you but our notification could bring immediate satisfaction.

May your continued travel and discovery be of equal and greater enjoyment.

The clover hotel is not too far from Schwedagon Pagoda , you can ask the way to pagoda from the staff , but you have to be careful when across the road!!!
The room is clean , i reserve pagoda view ( of coarse pay more) at 6th floor ( prefer 608 ) , if you do not want to pay more you can go to 7th floor there is restaurant with pagoda view( better than room).we have dinner at this restaurant for 2 times; the taste and price is acceptable.
The staffs are very nice, almost everybody can speak English and very helpful when we want to book karawek restaurant for show( but not success^^)

On our second stay in the city, the Clover City Center had overbooked and so they put us in this hotel for the night. The rooms were similarly functional, but much bigger. The hotel was better from a standpoint of the rooftop restaurant/views that were exceptional, but the food was similarly basic. Overpriced from a world perspective, but decently priced for Yangon. Must take a taxi from here to get anywhere in the city-- don't expect to walk to the city center unless you have a lot of time/energy.

I stayed here for one night in May 2014. The location is nice and quiet (although a bit far off from everywhere else). The hotel is quiet (except for dogn barking at night) aand the rooms are clean and spacious. No complaints and very friendly staff. Perfect business hotel.

We booked in advance through agoda and payed rrp. for our room and it's certainly not worth $150. That said at the time of writing this review advertised prices are less then half what we paid, and our expectations would have been lower if we had booked at those prices.

Rooms are quite grubby but ours thankfully didn't have a damp smell.

Location not great if you want to experience yangon. But ok for a 1 night stay in between flights.

Restaurant overlooks the schwedagon pagoda and the view is breath taking.
Food however is rather disappointing.

Our night here was the worst night sleep had during the trip. Dogs barking non-stop throughout the night.

Wifi was consistently excellent. AC not so much and beds rather uncomfortable.

Dear 255100Kylie,

Location – location – location as you were pleased with the breathtaking view from our restaurant, the excellent WiFi and okay for an in-between night’s stay.

Your next visit may be more surprising.

Room was clean, the bathroom smelled funny, I am guessing the piping couldn't filter the smell from the sewer, but this was solved by closing the door. Breakfast was horrible, don't even waste your energy to go up the restaurant, go out for breakfast. Price-wise, it is on the average Yangon's standard, it is reasonable, but you only get what you paid for.

Overall, not the kind of hotel where you would like to spend your day in, but serves its purpose by providing a spacious, cleanish room with comfy beds.

Room Tip: Pick a higher floor for some view, my room was too low and my view was a concrete wall like a meter...
