Have stayed here several times before. Clean but basic. This time they raised the prices significantly, and, despite having paid a deposit, demanded full payment of the entire stay when I checked in. Manager refused to speak with me.I paid for one night and had my office call them the next day. Of course, then they were delighted to accept payment at the end.Another example of selfish people trying to take advantage of foreigners.

Well located mid-way between the airport and down-town Yangon and more importantly just a short walk form the Shwedagon Pagoda. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and keen to help out with any request. The hotel lacks any atmosphere and is in a relatively new (although very badly built) building but it serves its purpose for a quick stop-over in Yangon. I arrived at 7pm and left for Bagan at 4:30am the next morning, so Clover Hotel worked well for me, especially at around $50 for the night. I spent the day in Yangon on my return from Bagan and the staff kindly looked after my bags for no charge while I explored the city, which was very kind of them. This hotel is a practical option for budget travellers.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel when we arrived at 4:30am after a long bus trip from Bagan. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and even though we had arrived almost 10 hours before checkin time they upgraded us to a deluxe room so that we could get some sleep before our second room was ready. The rooms are clean and well furnished and while it's not as fancy as what you would get for the price in many other places in SE Asia it is excellent value for Yangon. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Myanmar. The view from the top floor restaurant is excellent and we had breakfast and dinner there and were all extremely satisfied with our meals.

This hotel is very basic and may not meet standards found elsewhere in Asia BUT, for the Yangon area it represents good value for the money. Yangon is getting increasingly more expensive and this hotel has everything you need for a reasonable price. The view of the Shwedagon Temple from the roof-top dining room is wonderful and is within easy walking distance from the hotel. The temple is an absolute must-see and should be on everyone's "bucket list". We found the hotel staff very accommodating despite being somewhat challenged with English (which should never be a reason to pass on accomodation - after all, it's their country!). The room is quite large but basic with painted bare concrete walls, a comfortable bed and not much else. The WiFi was slow, sometimes non-existent, which is consistent with most hotels in Myanmar. The included breakfast was good. There are lots of places to eat close by and the city-centre is about a 10-15 minute inexpensive taxi ride away. The airport is about 30 minutes in light traffic, much longer if traffic is heavy. We will return.

My second stay here - stayed in Deluxe Room for 4 nights. It is difficult to get a reasonably priced decent hotel in Yangon, and this is a good choice. However, steep price for what it is. Agree with most good comments. But hotel showing significant wear and tear. And staff turnover means service is spotty. In rainy season, the hotel and rooms feel very damp and the road outside floods. Breakfast not great. Overall good choice for time being, but likely to be overtaken with newer hotels.

Room Tip: The hotel has 7 floors. The 7th floor is the restaurant, so 6th floor (Rm 603 etc) can be noisy very early in morning and late at night with noise from kitchen preparations. 5th floor is a good bet. If you hate the damp, stay away.
