“Very central, good choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

Very nice hotel, lots of places within walking distance. Nice Décor quite modern, the breakfast was good- the room was clean and had a modern feel but somewhat unusual as the shower is like a telephone cubicle in the room, it does have a blind to pull down for privacy- the toilet has a sort of curtain in front of it- sounds strange but it sort of worked ! Free water and Wi-Fi was a nice surprise.
Good choice in Yangon.

We stayed at this boutique hotel twice -- at the start and end of our trip. The rooms were spacious and clean. It is a short walk to Sule Pagoda and pretty much everything else. If one thinks a long walk is involved in getting somewhere that's okay too, cabs are very inexpensive. We liked the included breakfast and always ate our other meals at street vendors. There is bottled water available in the room and a fridge at the end of the hall offering cold and room temp. The front desk reception was very helpful and it's where we got our first taste of tamarind flakes. The hotel is in between two movie theatres but we never got there because the rainy season was not really wet.

Room Tip: both rooms we stayed in had a view.

I stayed at the East Hotel and had a brilliant stay. The staff were pleasant, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the location was central. I didn't mind the price for what I received but would agree that the open bathroom style wouldn't suite some.

I booked 6 rooms for 3 nights through Agoda online. The cheapest room came up to be the best room.
The Junior Suite to me is a misnomer because it's smaller than Deluxe room. Furthermore, there is a bathtub in the junior suite instead of inside the bathroom. The receptionist told me is Western Concept, probably for people to admire the city view if you draw the curtains while enjoying the bathtub.
I must admit is Western concept as the bathroom has no door but a curtain and you must pull down the wooden blinds because you can see through the bathroom from the bedroom.
Worst thing the bathroom is directly facing the room door.
The toilet is separate from shower, however the door has a gap on top and below therefore not too practical because the smell can flow through the whole room, imagine if you have a bad stomach and you are sharing room.
Breakfast spread is average and you may order some items from the breakfast menu too.
I also believed this hotel is more for westerners because of the double standard treatment, they are more eager to serve westerners.
Though I booked 6 rooms they won't allow late check-out till 1 pm.

great location, very friendly staff speaking English, pretty good breakfast and wifi connection. loads fo free water. but - 95 dollars a night??? for pretty, but rather dark and damp rooms with fungus in the walls where one can hear every word of their neighbor or a person passing in the hall?

We stayed there in Jul it was raining all the time. The hotel is conveniently located downtown Yangon. Opposite Traders. The staffs are helpful and have took care of us. The breakfast was average. The rooms was a little small but cozy. The toilet and shower is an open concept and may not be suitable if you staying with friends.
One thing good is they have endless supplies of bottle water for guest. I'll come back to stay

I have stayed in this hotel around 6-8 times and i found it comfortable. Staff are very cooperative and set Myanmar menu is very good. Breakfast is also very good. One challenge i faced it writing desk/table.

Room Tip: i do not think there is any thing specific to suggest.
