I am guessing there is a Thai in the kitchen or someone who lived there a long time. Restaurant was full of Thais the night we went. Great fluffy catfish salad, good curry - no complaints (and I had just come from a week in Thailand!)

We went to Sabai Sabai and found it closed....Our hotel called and they said, they are renovating and that Sabai Inya, which is three minutes away, is their new restaurant. Their are several Thai restaurants using Sabai to play on the reputation of the original....but there is currently as of November 26th only One Sabai Inya/Sabai Sabi open...and it is Sabai Inya.

We ate at Sabai Inya and it was delicious, inexpensive Thai food. At dinner they have private rooms that book for tourgroups....this is good for the groups but difficult for the people ordering ala carte...who at times have a wait a bit.

Food was fresh, not greasy and the service was very attentive. I would most definitely come back here and I would recommend this to everyone as a great Thai restaurant in Yangon. Keep in mind that it is close to a main road and traffic can be tough....that said....with proper planning and one of the numerous taxi's...it is fine.

Enjoy! We did this year, last year, year before etc!

A few other reviewers said this place had moved to Inya Road It has not but there is a restaurant called Sabai Inya on Inya Road which may be related. I had a great meal at Sabai Sabai last night. The service is very good and the wait staff speak very good English.

We went there three times and dishes were always excellent. Portions were big and prices reasonable. The staff is friendly and quick. It was always nearly full (also by locals) despite rainy season. If there is no rain, you can sit in a small garden outside, where they have approx. 5 tables.
The restaurant moved a few months ago to their new location in Inya road no. 6 (south of Inya lake).

It's good, overpriced Thai food. If you are worried about getting sick from food, I would suggest it. Otherwise, you shouldn't really bother. Good for a romantic spot, though.
