Agree completely with Cieliafrog (as these guys dont care anymore)-DISLIKE THIS PLACE-Guys, times are changing in myanmar-internet (which is very common almost everywhere) is a must when travelling as we know-the wifi was horrific for my stay just recently here. The neighbhour hood is in a poor area which is fine but just to be mindful. Comparing it to the bikers world (which we also stayed at) they are chalk and cheese apart. You are just another number/person in motherland inn2-they have no personaility at all and all they want is "money now"....I am eXtremely easy going when it comes to travelling but our room freaking STANK......The breakfast was ok but the poorest in myanmar- 35 usd is alot for a twin room (maybe if you dormed it you wouldnt feel as wasted with your money.)

Basic rooms, not really clean but okay. Attached bathroom was clean enough for my taste. It's a bit away from any sights, but I loved walking to the sights through less touristic places, it gives you a feel of the real Yangon, and for anyone who finds no pleasure in walking half an hour or with generally less time in Yangon, there are always some taxis waiting in front of MLI2.
I didn't experienced the staff as being overly friendly, I made much better experiences in many other accomodations in Myanmar. Besides I had to make a Western Union transfer beforehand, which was pretty silly since it cost me more than the actual ammount I had to pay as deposit! Wifi was not working at all, luckily there are three PCs in the lobby you can use.
It might still be a good place to start your journey in Myanmar, since there are a few tables in front of MLI2 where you can enjoy your cold Myanmar beer and meet other travellers (while getting eaten by mosquitos...). I'd recommend this place for backpackers, even if it's extremely overpriced for what you'll get, as is any "cheap" accomodation in Yangon and most parts of Myanmar.

Breakfast was decent albeit very oily (like everything in Myanmar). The dorm was spacious but had no aircon and had loud ladies outside the window very early in the morning. The staff was very friendly (and pretty). The internet was unbareably slow but they didn't charge me to use it. Location is kind of.far from downtown Yangon but the walk was interesting.

The problem with lonely planet recommended places is that they often become pretty bad due to their success. Staff was rude, food was inedible, room was dirty, wifi was not working... The room was 30 USD, so cheap enough, but not a good experience.

We chose the place because of its location and the free airport shuttle.
The staff was super helpful. We arrived at 5:30am and could not get straight into the room. They offered us a great breakfast and did not make us wait too long for the room.
The room itself, well for the money we paid .. it was very small and basic for 3 people and quite loud during the night, which is anyway a problem in whole Myanmar. But given the positive things and the price we paid that was ok.

Staffs are helpful and friendly. We paid USD30 per night for a twin bed room with air-cond for 2 persons. Included breakfast and airport transfer. Located at a quite place and you can sleep tight. However most of the local people cannot communicate in english. Luckily we met a taxi driver who worked before in Malaysia and able to speak english and bahasa Malaysia. For those from Malaysia can consider him as your tour guide or taxi service, Mr Kyaw (Joe), local mobile number 0931642691 . We have a nice trip in Yangon.

I have a pregnant wife travelling with me, so i dont want wasting my time walking around to find hotel as i usually did.
I read some good review about this hotel on some blog post, so i reserved 3 night before my departure to myanmar. Im not regret it.
Location a bit off center, you need to hire a taxi to go to main attraction (payas, bogyoke market). But you will rewarded seeing daily life around.
Staff is nice, good English, helpful. Good food for my taste. Free airport transport available for free..but its not as fast as taxi.
Price a bit steep for this kind of hotel, but it is not in Thailand or Cambodia or Vietnam. It is Myanmar by the way.
