Little to recommend other than proximity to airport

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Feb 1, 2017
Arrived at 1:30am with two young kids on a layover sleeping on floor while trying to get the family room we had reserved (double bed and extra single bed) Female manager was extremely rude and as another reviewer pointed out, wanted to charge us extra ($34) from agreed on price of $68. The room was somewhat faded but adequate, once we got in (a good 45 minutes later). Good breakfast. Glad we only had to deal with this place for a short visit- certainly a departure from the warm Burmese hospitality we experienced the remainder of the trip.

This is an inexpensive hotel--nothing fancy. It was sufficiently clean and had an adequate breakfast. The best part for us was the shuttle service from the airport. We had luggage issues but the Myanmar Life staff waited for us even though we were very late coming through Customs.

We're staying at Myanmar life hotel at the moment. The hotel is average in regards to customer service, food, beds and rooms. However the pool is really nice! The thing that stung us though was that we booked and paid for in advance a room including an extra bed for our daughter and when we got here there was no extra bed and they charged us $25 a night times 5. 😫

Our family booked three rooms as we had family visiting and we wanted to enjoy the pool. Though we booked the cheapest rooms in the main building we were upgraded to the pool side rooms in the bungalow building. The rooms were gorgeous and clean. I appreciated the complimentary tea mixes in addition to coffee in the rooms. The pool and grounds around the pool are pristinely maintained. Our family will make this a go to getaway when we need to rest and get a good swim in. Breakfast was the only downside. It was korean-tourist focused with lots of asian breakfast options. The egg station was running on a small gas burner set very low and taking a long time to make each persons egg. It took a long time to just get an egg and toast.

Room tip: The poolside rooms are near a sign that reads "LIFE" and it has a waterfall feature that was turned on at 6:00am.

Since the Hotel is close to the Airport, its a perfect location for early morning flights or midnight departures!
Hotel offers nice pool, clean rooms, I personally love the poolside rooms! I sometimes go just to chill out!

Stayed as a "treat" before a 7hr flight after 14 days backpacking myanma. Completely regret paying so much for a hotel which was worse than the hostels we had been staying in for 1/3 of the price.

Its close to the airport and has a free shuttle so thats a definite plus. The salt water swimmingpool was nice although its next to the building site so i felt a bit overlooked. The sunloungers are dirty, old and disgusting.

The room stank of stale beer and damp and had dirty walls and hairs all over the bathroom.
The western food was mediocre, the breakfast was okay.

The only redeeming feature were the friendly and helpful staff who recommended local cuisine not on the menu and who helped us organise the shuttle.

For what youre paying I would personally book elsewhere for a lot less. However as said before the staff are wonderful and attentive and this review shouldn't take away from their work!
