Found the Windsor Hotel on the web. Great find. Good value for the 3 of us. Great location too being just 2000 chat taxi fare from CBD. Quiet, had great sleeps. Internet is very slow though but it was fine for the basics. Good supermarket in a mall that just down the road too.

1 st night in Yangon and booked Windsor . I believe it is one of the few that does online bookings. Friendly staff and the building has large rooms and hot showers. Aircon was working and a bar fridge to keep things cool. Nothing flash by all means but for the price a pretty good midrange. All night security and I'm told the breakfast is great. Clean beds firm mattress not much more you could want of a room. Check out the rooms higher up as the ground floor rooms can be a bit noisy.

We were finding it hard to find a hotel in our budget. This was the cheapest we could find with availability. We booked 2 rooms. Compared to other hotels in SE Asia for this price it wasn't that great. The rooms are old and rundown and probably would be a lot better if the carpet was pulled out. In saying that, the sheets and towels were clean and the beds pretty comfortable. Breakfast was decent with mostly Asian food. The staff were polite and helped when we asked but didn't go out of their way. It is about a 15-20 min walk to the Shwe Dagon Pagida which is a must see. To the market it is bet to take a taxi which are easy to find outside the hotel. There are a few restaurants around as well as a big supermarket on the corner. For the prices in yangon it was ok.

A regular visitor to Yangon, in the past I always stayed in the bustling centre of the city. But, having discovered this older, out-of-town hotel I appreciate the quiet location and the facilities which match those of the three-star inner city hotel but at a much more affordable price.
The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable with excellent wi-fi connection. Although their English is rather shaky, the staff do their best to be helpful. The taxi fare into the city is cheap and there are plenty of taxis available just outside the hotel. I shall be back.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are exceptionally quiet.

Stayed there for one night due to the convenient location of this hotel. It was indeed value for money in Yangon, however in other cities in Asia I would have paid less. But this are obviously the rules in Yangon currently.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable, but the pillows were far to hard.
The breakfast was pretty Asian, just chicken, noodle and rice.....not my way to start in the day, but of course I m here the guest so I have to adapt the culture.
As it is hard to get clean and convenient rooms, I would probably come back, but would be happy for some adjustment regarding the breakfast.

Room Tip: Top floor was in a different style, maybe rooms are recently refurbished. I had one of them and was...

I subscribe most of what already said by Pangnaariuk in his review below.
We arrived (our first day in Myanmar) very early (9 a.m.) and they quickly made a room for us at 2nd floor. That room had old furniture and no external window so we got (after a little more wait to clean it) another in the renovated (well, the style is arguable...) 3rd (top) floor.
It was huge, with (external) windows, balcony, A/C, hot water, WiFi (slow as i guess it will be allover Burma).
Yes it is not in the town center (about 3km and 2 USD taxi) but the location is a quiet, residential area and this is a benefit for me in Yangon.
Excellent noodles at "Happy Café & Noodles", in City Mart (Pyay Rd. corner) at 10min walk.
I got the room through Agoda (prepaid) and the price was good for Rangoon (48USD).

Room Tip: Top floor has been totally renovated and rooms are very good. Things are very different in the floor...

Staying here right now in the room about 5 meters from the main reception , room smells like a mix of moth balls and raw sewerage , toilet has a sign on it saying "don't flush tissue into toilet" and it's blocked , doesn't flush, explains the smell, rooms are massive but have the same curtains and furniture from the 1960s to me it seems like this hotel has been abandoned and some squatters have moved in to run the place, they have about 30 staff hanging around doing nothing, I didn't even book this hotel, AGODA sent me an email telling me the hotel (MGM)I booked is under renovation and said got to this hotel with the voucher I already have and they will Have a room for you , unless your desperate I would look elsewhere
