A great place to crash in Yangon. Clean and quiet rooms with friendly staff. Although the cleaning ladies get a bit pushy when you are leaving, it is generally very relaxed. Avoid the Chinese food on the dining room menu unless you really like corn starch and orange retro sweet and sour sauce!

We had booked online, hotels are getting very busy in Yangon, and we were paying double what Lonely Planet had quoted, but we did not want to go without accommodations. The hotel is just great, dated yes....60's, but very clean. We had a nice big room, A/C that worked, a safe, and a wonderful shower with lots of hot water. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is a breakfast included in the price, and it was buffet style, with great coffee.
Our only complaint was they had numerous weddings booked in the Banquet Floors 12/13, and we were on 11, I am assuming they wanted to fumigate these floors, but we were not forewarned. We were in our room about 9 PM when this obnoxious smell seeped in, we opened the door and the hall was filled with what looked like smoke. We made our way to the lobby, to find the staff with napkins to their noses, they assured us everything would be fine, all they would say is "fumigating, go back in 10 minutes" and they were right.
The hotel is about 10 minutes from downtown by taxi, and they can be K1500-3000, depending on the time do day, or driver. However it is an easy 10 minute walk to two air conditioned shopping centers, and another few minutes from them you are at the National Mueseum, worth the $5.00 US.
Also a couple of nice little restaurants almost next door, on the next street. New Doreen and YKKO, both clean, good food, and good service.

Not a very inspiring hotel, but for one night it is fine. If you get
the right room. Ask for the ones ending in 01 or some of the even numbered ones, so you can have a beautiful view of the Schwedagon Pagoda. I had room
703 which was a basic room with a view over trees to other buildings.
It had a queen size bed, flat screen TV with cable channels (including CNN). There was
no hot water in the shower in the evening, but good hot water early in
the morning. Breakfast buffet was good and there was free internet
with three computers in the lobby.

If you need a moderate place to stay for one night in central Yangon,
this is an OK choice. But if you need a night before leaving for the
airport a better choice would be the Myanmar Life hotel 10 minutes
from the international airport. It is newer and well kept.

This was a hotel on a group tour and it was OK, but I would not stay here again

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the Schwedagon Pagoda

There really isn't too much wrong with this hotel. The staff are excellent and the facilities are good. Unfortunately, what sticks in the mind is the worn room and very stained toilet seat. Hopefully, with the tourist dollar now flowing freely into Myanmar, a programme of refurbishment will be on the cards.

This hotel is overpriced for what it is, but so are all hotels in Yangon right now, so I guess you can't really hold it against them.

Though a bit old and probably in need of an upgrade, the hotel is very clean, with hot showers & spacious rooms, so no complaints about the accommodations, and all taxi drivers are familiar with it. They also had very good wifi which worked in our rooms on the 8th floor, even though it is guaranteed only in the lobby.

Didn't try any of the food at the hotel, as there are many local options nearby. The staff spoke English well enough and were helpful and courteous. Until the hotel scene begins building up and there are more cheap, backpacker-like options, it's a reasonable choice to stay. Be sure to book well in advance as hotels in this town get snapped up quickly.

Room Tip: Go for a room on a higher floor and you might catch a glimpse of the Shwedagon Pagoda (and if not, s...

Excellent bell staff, front desk staff and housekeeping staff. Breakfast adequate. Room 813 was spacious and comfortable. Best rooms are more expensive #01 rooms (like 801) with Shwedagon view. Have stayed twice. Would return.

Stayed here two separate times on our trip to Burma. We booked through a travel agent so don't know hotel price. Check in efficient. First room # 608 (twins) and second room #813 (king), both with views of Shwedagon Pagoda (north side rooms). Rooms were large. Bathroom ok with amenities. Rooms have fridge and kettle with tea and coffee packets. Didn't lose electricity during either stay. No hot water at bathroom sink; only cold. Shower had plenty of hot water. Nice towels. Quiet room. Clean, great staff. Computer in lobby with free Internet. Free buffet breakfast with mainly Asian dishes, but adequate food to start the day. Popular with UK tour groups.

Close to Tae Win shopping center and food court/restaurants. 30-40 minute walk to Little Italy, 20 minute walk to Scott Market and National Museum.

Would stay here again.
