The 5 stars hotel

Review of Melia Yangon
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 27, 2017via mobile
This is my first time in Yangon. I stay here 1 night with city room view. The view is construction site but it is ok because I close the curtain and go to 24th floor to take view. I impress the fitness that opens 24 hrs . It is a big room and many new machines. About the breakfast, there are many food stations include ice cream and ice coffee! The room is big and beautiful.
The shopping mall close to the hotel.

We booked this hotel for our business trip because of its location and the promotion price was right, but it turned out to be a really beautify holiday hotel as well! The room was spacious and very well equipped with new furniture, wifi was great and the service from the staff was excellent. I had a chance to use the Melia member discount to take the dinner, and the food was simply exquisite. I would definitely go back there again for my next trip.

I live in Yangon and checked myself into the Melia because I had a big report to write, and wanted somewhere quiet and nice to work. I was not disappointed. I swam every day, and the pool was incredibly clean - not always the case here in Yangon. The food was absolutely outstanding - all of it: room service, the Olea, and the Market. Staff are lovely and friendly, but sometimes overly so - perhaps because I live here and I know what's "normal". Could do without the Muzak in the elevator, but really, that's so minor. The room is outstanding - very, very comfortable bed with down pillows. I absolutely loved my stay here, and would stay again.

Room tip: Upgrade to the rooms with a lake view - the other side of the building currently looks out over a huge construction site. I was on the 10th floor which was nice and quiet.

Me and my family stayed there for 3 nights only but it’s a great experience during my recent trip to Yangon.
I’m a frequent traveller and kind of picky person whenever choosing the hotel. Before my every trip, I usually took down many hotels in my list and read the review carefully. I always chose the hotel that would be suitable with my preference, such as safety, convenience and comfortable .. Now, my choice is right, Melia fulfilled what I needed.
We booked 2 rooms and requested the high floor; I love the high floor whenever I stayed in hotels. We arrived at the hotel around 12 noon before the check-in time. A young and sweet lady staff from the Reception is very helpful. She politely explained that one room was ready for us but another room wasn’t. Also she already arranged the room at 23 rd floor that I truly enjoyed and most memorable. It made me so happy indeed.
The Concierge also very attentive.. The bellboy service is great.
The room is very clean and tidy, well maintained. The wifi is very fast. The room is very quiet. We can get a good sleep after a long day filled with busy schedule. Breakfast buffet is awesome. They offer a wide variety of choices. I love the most is Noodle station and Yoghurt station. It’s so tasteful. House Keeping is very fast and efficient. House Keeping staffs are very attentive and fulfilled us what we asked for. We couldn’t access the swimming pool during our stay. It was doing under regular maintenance service. Hotel location is great, next to shopping mall and we can access everything. Another thing we appreciated was the reception team allowed us to late check out at 3 pm as our fight is in the late evening.

Overall ranking : The staffs are very professional and friendly - front desk, concierge, housekeeping, bellboy , all are very fantastic.

The remarkable service: 1) They arranged the room at 23 rd floor that we asked for.
2) Late check out at 3 pm

We have a wonderful experience at Melia and will definitely come back whenever we visit to Yangon, .

Had a great stay at this new hotel with the convenience of facilities, restaurants and shopping center within walking distance. Good service and staff always ready to help. Near to some bars for drinks in the evening. Just make sure, your room face the beautiful lake and not the construction site.

Room tip: Get a room facing the lake, otherwise you may end up facing the hugh construction site next door.

I had a wonderful week long stay at Melia Yangon! The staff provides a truly exceptional and excellent service. The room that I stayed is in excellent condition and in top form. Very clean and well maintained. I booked the Premium Lake View and definitely you will be mesmerized with the spectacular view of the Inya Lake. The wifi access is very fast. The Market Restaurant offers a wide variety of buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner both international and Asian dishes! You should not miss their Seafood dinner on Fridays and their fantastic Sunday brunch which I can truly attest is the best brunch in Yangon! A must try is their Olea Restaurant which offers superb Mediterranean cuisine and The Lantern which showcase Vietnamese dishes at its finest. The Fitness center is well equipped and provide classes for free. Truly an unforgettable stay and I will definitely come back at Melia Yangon!

Room tip: Book the room facing the Inya Lake
