This is an absolute must. The most relaxing day possible. Swam in beautiful ocean blue waters, snorkeled all day, saw amazing fish, saw cute little turtles, had a tasty lunch and the staff were absolutely amazing. I would definitely do this day trip again when I go back :)

This tour was not at all bad, we just expected to spend a lot more time snorkelling. The boat was big, lovely and clean, but very, very slow. To my knowledge there was no sailing, just motoring. It seemed to take a long time to get to the first stop, the turtle hatchery, which, I personally could have done without, as well as the "information-more promotion than information" from the lady from the Eco resort. We then sailed around to the other side, which again seemed to take forever, it just went so slowly. The little boat took us out to the reef for a brief 20min snorkel before lunch and a 15min snorkel after. The reef was amazing-lots of fish and pristine coral. But 35mins of snorkelling on a full day tour, just isn't long enough.

Lunch was delicious, the weather was beautiful and the beach we were at was gorgeous, and all the staff were great.

We did enjoy our day and met some great people, who we ended up spending quite a bit of time with for the rest of our week long visit. Just not enough time in the water.

A fabulous day trip from Port Vila which began under overcast skies with an interesting bus ride. Once aboard the ketch we chugged (disappointing for sailors) across Havannah Harbour with the accompaniment of dolphin play to a conservation area for Hawksbill Turtles (hatchlings to 1 year olds). You can even sponsor a turtle for $50 AUD and get regular updates on sightings. Around the other side of the island you get a fleeting taste of 'Survivor Vanuatu' which was filmed near here. But the reality is that you are on a catered cruise with morning and afternoon tea plus a delicious BBQ lunch in between snorkel expeditions on nearby reefs. Beautiful fish, beautiful location, happy/friendly cruise staff and it all ends far too soon really. It is a full day: 8.30am to 6pm.

How this trip rates 26 of 53 Port Vila activities is a mystery. I guess weather can impact on the day, however we had magic conditions and an awesome day on both land and water with South Pacific Cruises.

Our tour followed the same routine as previous reviews - once everyone was onboard it was over to the turtle sanctuary. The kids enjoyed picking up the older turtles and the visit was certainly informative.

From there we sailed (motored) around to the other side of the island for swimming, lunch and snorkelling. All were exceptionally good. The water was picture perfect, the bbq lunch as good as any day trip we did, probably better and the snorkelling on the reef in particular was a highlight.

The return "sail" was further opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings, enjoy a refreshing drink and view the dolphins that enjoyed scooting around the Coongoola on our particular trip.

For sure the Coongoola is an old lady of the seas, however that is part of the charm. Like many previous reviews - no sails this day, in fairness though the winds were light.

All in all - a memorable day out, probably the best day we had on our Vanuatu holiday. If the weather forecast is good, do yourself a favour and take this day trip!!!

Had read before we left a few bad reports on trip Advisor so was a little unsure whether to book but first 3 nights at resort we were staying spoke to 5 couples who had done it that day and said it was brilliant so we booked and wernt disappointed. Pickup was 5 mins early and we made two more stops before we were at Havannah harbour and ferry out to the boat. We sat and soaked in the view for 15 mins before the second bus with pickups from other hotels arrived they it was a short motor accross to the island and visit the turtles (Not a hughe operation but was fantastic for the kids to hold and have a photo with a turtle. We had the added bonus of helping to release an 80 year old turtle who had been rehabilitated follwing a propellor strike. Then we motored around to the lunch spot and snorkelling was fantastic meal and the diving was pretty awsome as well. Well work the $$ for this trip
