Owner description: Mele Cascades Waterfalls is one of Efate's most popular natural attractions. Only 20 minutes drive out of town, a visit can be completed in just over two hours. There are bathroom facilities available , sitting area, a small cafe and bar on site for purchase of food and drinks. The area is local owned and run by locals. Revenue generated help pay wages for local employees, maintenance and upkeep of the area, community development for surrounding villages and sponsorship of social activities, most especially soccer development programs for youth. Note: Efate is currently experiencing severe El Nino and the once picturesque attraction has very low water levels. This is also causing drastic water supply shortage to villages and its people. To close the business would mean loss of income for many.

Absolutely packed! We went on a grey and wet day but the Cascades were still very busy. Worth a visit but only if you don't mind paying $25 AUD to walk up some pretty waterfalls with lots of other people.

Nice waterfall, bout 15-20 min walk up to the falls, through mud & water. You can swim in the waterfall and stand under it too. We thought this was pretty expensive to do as we are lucky enough to have beautiful free to view waterfalls at home. One of the priciest activities we did in Vanuatu. We enjoyed it but it was expensive. Spent about 2 hours there.

We stopped by the Cascade Falls as part of a private round the island tour and it was one of our favourite things we did on the island. The waterfalls are beautiful.

Tip: you are literally walking up a waterfall so definitely bring reef/water shoes if you have them - makes it much more enjoyable.

It was a bit steep at $20/person, and apparently the price changes pretty frequently, but we paid $20 to get into some of the other attractions that were nowhere nearly as worth it.

Im no light weight but managed the walk to the top. swimming in the cascades was breath taking this is a must do. We caught a taxi to the cascades and self walked. we preferred this so we could spend as much time here as we wanted. 2 hours later and a true highlight to our trip to Vanuatu.

Spectacular falls, loved the walk up through the wild gardens as well and the water crossings (ropes provided, I'm nervous with falls/heights and was absolutely fine). I'd suggest going independently (getting a bus or taxi from town) rather than a tour so you have more time at the Cascades. We went with an Evergreens tour and by the time we'd done the two other (less interesting) stops we didn't have as much time as we expected to enjoy the falls. But I'm really glad to have experienced them!
