Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Mele Cascades Waterfalls is one of Efate's most popular natural attractions. Only 20 minutes drive out of town, a visit can be completed in just over two hours. There are bathroom facilities available , sitting area, a small cafe and bar on site for purchase of food and drinks. The area is local owned and run by locals. Revenue generated help pay wages for local employees, maintenance and upkeep of the area, community development for surrounding villages and sponsorship of social activities, most especially soccer development programs for youth. Note: Efate is currently experiencing severe El Nino and the once picturesque attraction has very low water levels. This is also causing drastic water supply shortage to villages and its people. To close the business would mean loss of income for many.

The cascades are beautiful! Well worth the visit the price and the walk! Very refreshing and something that is different from other waterfalls.

Only comment would be that they charge a reasonable amount for admission, it doesn't appear that they put much of this back into the up keep of the area.

I would love to return!

It is a little bit of a hike so prepare to sweat if it's hot out but jumping in the waterfall makes it completely worth it. So beautiful!

It's a bit of a hike to get up there, but the walk is worth the view! Stunning waterfall and beautiful clear water. Lovely gardens as well.

“Just wow! magnifique.”

This is no Niagara Falls. If you are looking for width, this is not for you!

However, if you are looking for a wonderful experience: enjoy a lovely walk in lush rain forest with intermittent sigthings of blue pools of water, where you actually get to sit in the pools, have the water pounding on your shoulders and back, jump into one of the deeper pools, climb the rock face a bit and get stunning views of the high falls from their bottom. This is for you!

I did not choose to eat in the restaurant, so I cannot comment on its food. The location though is idyllic, set as you begin the gentle climb to the main falls. It has a large infinity pool where the fall waters are dammed before they flow out to continue their journey. Moreover, the whole scenery is stunning!

If you are taking a baby you might prefer to have one of those hiking seats so that your hands are free if when you climb the rock face - the rocks were not at all slippery but the footings are natural and uneven.

Definitely worth the 2000 for adults. (1500 for children. I think young children under 7 are free.)

The water is so clean! You should go prepared to swim and relax for a few hours, there is a small bar at the bottom and its very pretty so you need to take a camera
