“Stunning resort”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Just came back from a 7 day stay with a group of 21 - 14 adults & 7 children. The resort is stunning, well looked after & clean. We stayed in a superior lagoon room which was great. We had our 2 sons who are 4 & 2 with us & it was suitable. The staff were friendly & helpful. We all had an amazing 7 days & it was very relaxing. My only negative comment is the kids food - the kids buffet is terrible, I didnt let my boys eat from it. It wasn't kept warm, the food was cold & the selection was terrible. You can however order the kids a meal from the kids menu - the selection was sufficient however the kids would have to wait over an hour to get their meals. This was most stressful part of the trip, when kids are hungry they want to eat! We learnt very quickly to order the kids meal at 5.30 so we only had to wait 20 mins. I don't understand why the kids just can't eat from the buffet in the Lagoon restaurant for free! We ate at Wild Ginger twice - the food was amazing & so was the service. The pool bar service needs to be quicker but hey it's Vanuatu & you have to accept 'vanuatu time'. Best holiday I've had in a long time, all 21 of us had the best time. Would stay there again but hope the kids food/menu improves.

We just returned back from 7 nights a garden superior room at Le Lagon. 2 adults and 2 children 10 and 5. We all had a fantastic time and will certainly be going back for a year holiday there. We got the all inclusive package and was certainly worth it. All the staff are so friendly they almost become like family. The kids loved the kids club we barley saw them. Breakfast was wonderful such a great range of food.Dinner of a night was great because it was different theme every night.I did read some reviews before going and was almost going to stay somewhere else but I can now say that I am so happy I didn't. There was not negative thing to say. I only wish we stayed longer. The staff for me were amazing all looking after you,we never waited to get drinks or food. Wild ginger the restaurant was amazing great food. I would certainly recommend the Warwick to everyone one of the best holidays we have had.

Rooms are nice, food is okay, and the beach is okay too. Not too good, not too bad. Don't take the Hotel's snorkeling trip: they take you to the place where the ALL the reef is dead!! The only way you see fishes is when the snorkeling guy from the Hotel puts bread crumbs in the water! Having snorkeled at better places in Vanuatu (Pele Island, Hideaway) with tons of lively coral and fishes, the snorkeling was very disappointing.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay with us. We are pleased you found most things "average" but sad to hear of the snorkel trip not being up to standard.

We take note of those areas you have raised concern over and make amends immediately. Sadly, reef bleaching is becoming a problem in many areas around the world which is beyond our control.

Thank you for staying with us and look forward to seeing you again.
Kind regards, Staff and Management.

I'll start on the positives. The breakfast menu is excellent, housekeeping is great and dinner entertainment is good. The gardens and grounds are also beautiful. Now the problems...

We had the all inclusive deal, unfortunately no-one explained it to us and had to return to reception three times before they gave us the bands we were supposed to wear. Half the staff seemed not to know anything about the deal when we first arrived so we were clueless until the third visit to reception - and even then the staff didn't seem confident in their knowledge of what was included.

There is a daily listing of activities which is supposed to be delivered the night before, of the five nights we were there it was only delivered twice, so I just got in the habit of picking one up from reception - however, of the five activities we turned up for, NONE occurred including the pool scuba lesson. Even after I asked the Activites person for the net to play pool volleyball they didn't put it up.

I wouldn't have dinner at Le Lagon and it's overpriced for what it is, so was disappointed that I was stuck eating there with the all inclusive deal. One dinner was supposed to be a BBQ and they had it all set up outside, but moved it inside due to the amount of ants around the tables. We had already set ourselves up outside for dinner and sprayed insect repellant around our feet, yet they forgot to mention they were moving dinner inside to us or the lady who was the entertainment. We sat there until it started getting very dark and started wondering about the lights not being turned on.

Kids Club - I felt sorry for the staff in the kids club and they didn't look like they enjoyed being with children and looked very bored, needless to say I only put the kids in for a couple of hours while we played golf.

There are a few other minor problems but really I think I've already spent enough time on the place - best to forget and move on....

Dear guest,
Thank you for taking time to write your review, it is with guest feedback we are able to correct the areas that you mention.
I am sorry that we fell down in our service areas to you, especially on the mix up over your All Inclusive entitlements. This issue has been raised with both Front Office and Food & Beverage Managers to ensure that all staff are fully conversant with information on the packages offered.
The non delivery of the activities programme and indeed the failure to operate some activites has been viewed seriously and addressed with the department manager.
Unfortunately, food costs are high in Vanuatu and these reflect in our menu prices.
Once again, Management and Staff thank you for taking time to give feedback, we appreciate it and assure you those points raised have been addressed.

We stayed at Le Lagon for 7 nights in Oct 2012, with our 2yo daughter and loved Le Lagon. After reading some reviews before on trip advisor I nearly changed my mind about this hotel but so glad we didn't! We simply took a taxi from airport and were welcomed with a drink on arrival and string band our bags promptly taken to our rooms. We were upgraded free to a Garden Bungalow it was perfect with water views the cot we requested before arrival was ready and set up in the room. (we had tried to upgrade before we left but they emailed us back with a higher than advertised price plus what we had already paid so we decided not to)The breakfast was amazing everyday we found it cheaper to go into town and stock our own minibar on day 1. There was no delay in coffee or pool towels or any service as some previous reviews suggested however we were not in any rush. I would highly recommend taking a quick 5min ferry ride from the end of resort beach to Erakor island. This is an awsome place for kids with trampoline and play area right on beach, you can get a drink at the bar relax on the deck chairs crystal clear water & food was excellent ,Erakor sunset cocktail highly reccomended. Also the massages on this island are around 1/3 of the price of Le Lagon. Our stay at Le lagon was not disapointing in any way. Our daughter although to young for the kids club was welcome to use the play equipment or stay at the kids club with adult supervision (us or babysitter). On the day that we went all the kids were taking a glass bottom boat ride(they love kids in Vanuatu) The only one negative was that the kids meals were fairly unhealthy nuggets and chips by the end of the week I was happy to get her home to some green veges. We didn't do any tours but caught taxis everyday from front of resort ,never take the first price offered and never pay more than $100 AUD for a taxi to take you around all day that means anywhere wait for you return you to resort. some days this was 8am till 5pm on the other side of the island (blue hole and Turtle sanctury) Everything is accesable on your own and very easy once you are there. (but don't expect seat belts or baby car seats) Highlights would have to be Hideaway island, Erakor island & the cascades. We also did the Esakup village cultural night (only organised tour we did) was alot of fun, summit gardens.( try the juice at the cafe) We ate coconut crab at Chill resturant upstairs near town markets highly reccomended it was to die for (you have to order crab a day or two before best to pop in and ask) also the food at Baywatch was excellent. Overall a great holiday at an excellent resort I think this is the best one in Vanuatu from what others were saying about there hotels.

Room Tip: Go for a Garden bungalow most have water views or a water Bungalow if you can afford it.

Have just returned from 5 nights at le lagon - lagoon superior room 111
Accomodation, meals ,service and overall athemisphere can not be faulted, I guess thats why we have been there 3 times and are looking forward to a return visit some time in the future
You notice some people on their high horse, winging about the smallest of things instead of enjoying their time and getting on with their holiday (witnessed a person complain about the wine tasting different -when we saw them both poured out of the same bottle)
We have read some of the negitave things posted and hope that they do never sway anybody's decision to choose the Warwick Le Lagon as a holiday destination
The staff all try their up most to make you welcome and enjoy your stay at their place of work and on their Island, they are a very happy and friendly people
we can only highly recommend you visit this resort in the future regardless of age and family status
This occasion we took a day trip over to Tanna to see the volcano --Its a must do
