Description: Ripples on the Bay, Vanuatu, is a small, four room resort and restaurant, located on beautiful Teouma Bay, a twenty five minute drive out of Vanuatu's capital, Port Vila. Our restaurant has a small but varied menu. We're known for our Asian dishes, but also serve great fish and chips, burgers and chips, and steaks. Bring your swimming gear and enjoy a dip in our pool after lunch, or contact us about staying over in one of our spacious, waterfront rooms. Contact details are on our website and Facebook page. A complimentary breakfast is included in our room rate. Restaurant is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday from 12 noon. (Open to in house guests every day.)

“Great surroundings, great food”

We had a very pleasant stay in spacious, comfortable rooms, and enjoyed watching sunsets from lounge chairs on our covered balcony, or the edge of coral lagoon ... or in the restaurant. Swimming with the tropical fish was a first for us.
Having a quality restaurant (with cocktail bar) 20m from your room does not hurt a bit. Try the freshly made samosas and amazingly good fried prawn-coconut triangles. Curries, burgers, and desserts- all good.
Thanks so much Sally & Damien, James & other staff who were so helpful.

“Hard to find”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

A little bit hard to find, but a very beautiful and stunning area. The service is ok and the staff are very friendly & helpful. there are certainly better restaurants in port vila but there are many restaurants that are worse. The curry was good but a little expensive

Hi Amber M,

We're glad you enjoyed our lovely, out of the way, ocean front cafe, and our delightful front of house guys and gals. Sorry if you found the curries a little expensive, but there is a little extra love that goes into the preparation - we roast, grind and blend whole spices to make our curry powders; all of the curry pastes are made from scratch, from fresh and imported ingredients; coconut milk, and toasted and dessicated coconut are all made from fresh coconuts. Nothing comes out of a packet, jar or tin unless it is absolutely, 100% percent unavailable in this little island nation.

We never set out to be the best restaurant in Vanuatu. We simply happy to be a place where you can relax and enjoy good food in a beautiful environment.

Hope to see you again on your next visit to Vanuatu.

“Best on Efate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Yes, this place is a bit hard to find but definately worth it. The curries change regularly and are excellent. The location is great and very relaxing. Rock pools in front are great for kids and the reef beyond is good snorkelling. Been out on the weekend a couple of times and its very quiet which is hard to understand as it is closer to Vila than Wahoo Bar and the food is much better.

“Best kept secret on Efate ?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

Hard to find ( there is a tiny sign on a tree on White Sands rd that suggest you turn right on the next dirt track and then left , for about 300 metres. It's more like 800) but worth it !
Amazing curries and stunning views. We were the only people there but I'm sure it will soon get very busy.
A little expensive ( for a curry) but I still can't stop thinking about that Balinese Pork !

“HARD TO FIND, BUT WORTH THE HUNT”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

We had a lovely meal at Ripples, it sits on a very pretty spot. The owners, Sally & Damien (if my memory serves me right) are a lovely couple. We like our curries hot, but I can understand Sally needs to cook for all tastes, so she added a dish of sambal, which helped immensely.
Think about a larger sign on the road S & D, the existing sign was not easy to see. We will be back to see you and India their gorgeous pooch.
Merry christmas guy's.

Thanks for the lovely review, Princessbrisbane. Feedback on our customers' experience of Ripples is always valuable, especially as we are so new to the business. It sounds as if you visited on one of the few occasions when I didn't have a mega-hot curry on the menu, but I'm glad my sambol bridged the gap for you. And we're sorry you had trouble finding us. You're not the first to have made this observation, so I just wanted to let you know that our road signage has finally been made - a big, colourful billboard WITH clear and specific directions. It will be erected at the turn-off from the main, bitumen road very soon. We look forward to seeing you again when next you visit beautiful Vanuatu, and to meeting your friends when they come for a holiday. Be sure to let them know that out accommodation bungalows are finally completed. All the best, Sally & Damien (and India Rose, of course)
