“Excellent place to stay”

Loved this place. The room was spacious and had a great outlook onto the beach. The kitchenette is pretty basic but was good for what we used it for. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only thing the hotel is a little distance away from Port Vila, some people may like this but we found without nearby restuarants we were constantly making our way in to Port Vila.

We had a great time whilst staying at Nasama. Not only were the staff friendly and ever helpful, but we also found that the majority of guests were very friendly and were quite happy to provide advice on things to do, places to eat out at (if you wanted to).

As already mentioned in in other reviews the buses are very frequent and only cost a flat rate of $150 vt per person to town.

We had a studio room and were amazed by the well thought out start up provisions along with the cooking facilities and utensils.

The size of the room itself was quite impressive and we found the king size bed very comfortable, which was a godsend for me as my back can have issues with some beds.

We self catered as much as possible and found this to be very flexible.

Walking around the markets was an experience to not be missed. If you feel brave try the local food, meat filling inside a vegetable that was then wrapped in leaves from one of the women with a foam box for around 100 vt (make sure to get a warm one), you will be pleasantly surprised (make sure to have something to clean your hands afterwards).

However there are a number of restaurants not too far away. Not only at Breakers, but also on the hill opposite the resort (head down towards Breakers and you will see a sign on the right hand side of the road).

We did go to the Warwick one night for a buffet meal and found the quantity and quality of the food very good (around $4000 vt each + drinks).

We did pack our own cereal, juice and milk with us just in case the shops were closed when we arrived. If you are arriving late I would suggest also packing some two minute noodles, so that you don't have to rush to the shops or find a restaurant.

A taxi did cost $3000 vt from the airport and to get to the resort it has to pass a few of the supermarkets, one of the larger one's being between the Hotel and Port Vila. If possible see if the driver is happy to stop at the supermarket and let you buy some goods.

We also brought an electric insect repellent (small one that uses either disks or liquid) with us as a precaution against mozzies while we slept and did not have any issues (peace of mind).

The location and facilities were excellent and allowed us to enjoy our time whilst there.

I suspect that at one point in time there might have been flyscreens on the sliding doors, as there are tracks on the floor, but considering the prevailing winds while we were there they might have been cause for issues.

We would definitely stay there again if we return to Port Vila.

We had a beautiful stay in an upstairs studio apartment Our room was spacious perfectly clean ,comfortable bed nice bathroom with excellent kitchen facilities and a great balcony which we spent most of our time on My only suggestion would be for fly screens on the sliding doors if possible. We do like to self cater and Vanuatu is not cheap so this type of self contained accommodation is ideal. The bus service is great ,one never has to wait more than a few minutes.Easy to bus into town for grocery supplies .
The staff were so warm welcoming and accomadating particularly Elisabeth and Ashley who could not have done more to make our stay more perfect from the time of our first inquiry ,day trips, restaurant bookings etc thanks again. We have already recommended you

Staff were very accomodating & happy to assist with booking tours etc. 24 hour security on site, who also assisted with guest queries. In room safe & small clothes airer a great touch. Microwave & hob came in useful. Small enough sized resort to feel like you have some space to yourself. Didnt have to fight for an outdoor lounger. Really enjoyed our stay, would love to come back. Buses (vans with a b on license plate pass constantly on main roads including this one, just wave at them to stop $200 vatu to town. Brekas resort 2mins walk away for meals but adults only including the restaurant.

There was nothing to complain about this place. Room was fine and I didnt require anything else (except a couple of umbrellas which we borrowed from reception) It was spacious, clean, everything worked and more importantly the bed was very comfortable. The staff were fabulous and helped with anything you needed. We caught a taxi from the airport - will cost you $3000 vt and the staff booked us one back at the same price. Buses into town were very frequent and never had to wait more than a few minutes. Grounds and pool are fabulous, perfect temperature for swimming and loved listening to the waves crashing on the beach. Would recommend for anyone wanting to self cater, although if you want cereal for breakfast I would recommend bringing your own. We did and I'm glad we did as a box of cereal over there will cost you about $11-12au at least. We also took a weeks supply of chocolate as this is quite expensive. We didnt cook there as we went into town every night for dinner.

Nasama Resort is a self catering resort style property. We stayed in a studio beach view unit. The unit was spacious and well appointed with near full size fridge freezer, 4 pot smooth top cooking (no oven but microwave), with plenty of cupboard space and enough utensils to adequately cater for yourself. We were in unit 105 (ground floor) and found this to our liking (no stairs). Digital satellite TV is available in the room with mainly Australian channels. The dining table was outside (no inside dining table) on the patio, which was good as long as the wind did not blow into the area, we had to bring the table and chairs inside one night. The resort was quiet, had a very good pool area, although the pool was cool but refreshing. There was a good BBQ area behind the pool. Kayaks were available, although we could not use them due to the windy conditions that prevailed which were very disappointed about. This appeared to be common issue. We did use the tidal pool which lovely and warm at the end of our stay (wind again). I have been told the reef is worth a look, best to go swim over the reef at high tide or take reef shoes if the reef is exposed. While situated out of town it is not far and inexpensive to go to and from town, it was only a short bumpy ride (roads in Port Vila are not in great condition at the moment) in a taxi or van. Van’s you hailed, (plenty of them day and night) told the driver where you wanted to go and it was 150 vatu each to town sharing with other tourists and locals along the way. Same price back, you can identify the vans for hire as they have a red B at the start of their number plate, red T for taxi but they cost a lot more. Reception is a short walk towards the roadside with access to many tours and has a limited supply of food, drink, wine, beer and other essentials. Au Bon Marche is a good supermarket to stock up on supplies there are several of these the better ones (bigger and more choices in products) are just out of downtown Port Vila. There is Breakas Beach Resort nearby if you want to dine out locally or just go into town where there is a large selection of eateries. Staying at Nasama Resort was a good choice for us and we would certainly consider it again.

We were a group of 3 girls and stayed at Nasama for 4 nights in June and loved it! The location was great as it was away from the main centre and had a beautiful view from all the rooms of the sea. It was so easy just walking out to the road and catching a bus (which literally come every 2 mins - flat rate of 150 vatu) to where ever we wanted. The staff were very helpful and booked a few tours for us. The rooms were very nice and modern, fully equiped kitchen meant we could get food from the supermarket down the road and cook our own meals to save costs on eating out all the time. The pool is stunning!! Plus they have cleared a portion of the reef on the beach so you can easily go for a dip with sand underfoot. We enjoyed the free BBQ for one of our meals too.

I would definitely come here again! Great for couples, groups and families. A 10 minute walk down the road takes you to Breakas Resort for a meal, though it is on the dearer side.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground level give you straight access to the beach and pool - glad we weren't on th...
