“Worth a Visit”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

We had a brief visit to the markets as I wanted my sons to see what sorts of food the people of Vanuatu eat. We bought a coconut and they opened it for us, a very refreshing drink while we wandered around, the local bananas (little ones) are really good too. Our local taxi driver told us that the market is open 24 hours, 6 days a week and the babies sleep there with their mothers.

“Well worth the look”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

As a cultural inexperience I highly recommend it. Buy and eat as much fruit and vegetables as you like at such low prices. The local coconuts are amazing compared to the junk we get in Australia...coconut water in a can from home is disgusting compared to the local vanuatu coconuts. The markets also has some hot food areas but those are the ones i'd stay away from unless you like living on the wild side (standing on a volcano sounds safer). I haven't heard anyone say much negative about this food but when you see it being made with what looks like dirty knives and cutting boards it takes the safety away. I dont want to sound too negative so its each to their own when it comes to this. I prefer the fruit and vegetables and they all looked so wonderful. Prices are very very low and its fun to see and in some cases figure out what your looking at.

“Island Life ”

Nice little market to experience where locals buy and sell fresh produce. If you visit here you must try the coconut for 60VT and have them open it for you so you can have a refreshing drink while you stroll around the market.

“A must do experience”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

Walk into the past into these markets. Not that big, but well worth the walk around, chat with the locals and see how they sell their local fare. Cheap prices and an experience to see how the locals shop and make a living. Not open on Sundays.
