Beware of taxi men or bus drivers wanting to take you on this tour - particularly if you're coming off a cruiseliner; they will over inflate their prices plus they are not proper tour guides.
Our guide knew everything, her narrative just flowed over the 8 hour tour and the time just flew by - there were plenty of stop offs, photo opportunities and food breaks.
She was extremely informative & knowledgeable - Without this tour I wouldn't have learnt any of it's history. I would highly recommend.
Highlights were: Visiting the lagoon (amazing!!), visiting the village and tasting the local food

Local tour guide, Letty, & her uncle Noah, the bus driver, gave us a very enjoyable day. Being from a Vanuatu island, Letty was full of local & cultural information & had a beautiful witty personality. We saw some beautiful local beaches & villages where we were entertained by local school children & cultural dances. Food was great giving us a hint of what the locals eat in the villages with entertainment over lunch by a local string band. Lots of fun. Highly recommended. Letty our tour guide and Noah our driver made our round island tour a totally engaging and enjoyable day, full of information and activities. Letty gave us a constant commentary around the whole island, with obvious local knowledge. It was a true cultural, historical and culinary awareness experience. We would highly recommend this tour after hearing of other travellers experiences and only 7000VT each. Michele and Lloyd (Melbourne)

This is a must do tour of Efate. We were initially thinking of hiring a bus driver (since they all offer when you take a bus into town) for around $100-$120 to take us around the island but after taking into account the entry costs to most of the attractions such as: hot springs, blue hole, survivor beach etc we decided a tour would probably be the most economical. We thought that by taking a tour we may not recieve a fully authentic island experience but it was just the opposite. We learnt so much and our tour guide (Leifa?) was so sweet and absolutely amazing. She was from one of the islands off shore Efate so she knew everything about the island and we learnt things that we never would have otherwise. The tour was so personal from the kindergarden class we visited in one of the villages that sang us songs, to the tribal dance that was performed for us in another village. I would recommend this to everyone wanting to fully see Efate and have a truly personal experience.

this local outfit offer a great experience with a passionate guide and good driver in a clean minivan. If you are lucky then it will only be your group. They are reliable and this is not a cobbled together tour that every bus driver will offer you. Included is a refreshing fruit plattter for morning tea and a tasty lunch at a ‘fair dinkum” village restaurant complete with island string band. Tea and biscuits for afternoon tea after your swim in Havana bay- bring a cossie and snorkel gear if you have some. The highlight for me was holding a large non poisonous spider and some fierce warriors welcoming us at the village. Get them to stop at roadside stalls and don’t be scared to try the fried spring rolls - these are freshly cooked, cheap and yummy. Ni-vans love showing you their island and you can ask as many questions as you want. What I really liked about them is that everything is prepaid and they share half of their fee with the locals. The result is that the villages are delighted to see you and you don't feel as if you are imposing.
Top tip- Do the tour at the beginning of your trip as it will orient you to the island and local culture. Unfortunately they do not have a website but email (nativetours@hotmail.com) them or call them (5450253) and book it for the first full day you are there.
