Description: A great place to hang out for the day. The Beach Bar is famous for its wood fire pizzas, but offers a large choice of alternatives as well. The kids just love playing on the beach with all the free water toys while Mum & Dad relax in the beer garden. Sit back and enjoy the stunning sunsets over Mele Bay whilst enjoying a cold beer or glass of wine. Keep an eye out for the special "Friday Night Fire Dancing" evenings, Tuesday Movie nights on Port Vila's biggest screen, right on the beach and our Sunday Sessions starting with live music from 1pm followed by our great new show "Sunday Kustam Karnival" where Bank's Snake Dancers meet our talented Circus Performers". Something for everyone at The Beach Bar!

Mostly visited by expats this little retreat offers great hospitality and good food at a reasonable price. If you can then go on a Friday night to the Fire Show or the Sunday afternoon Circus but book a table first if you want to eat. The bar provides large inflatables and other watersport 'toys' which vary depending on the day to anyone eating and drinking in the bar. Staff are competent and speak good English. The bar is located opposite Hideaway Island and is a 15 minute bus ride from Port Vila which shouldn't cost more than 150 vt per person.

We came here on a Friday night for dinner and to watch the fire show. Great atmosphere and great family fun. We rang up the day before and booked a table as it can be very popular. We had to wait awhile for our pizza's to be brought out. Good idea to order food early and then sit back with a drink soaking up the atmosphere.

Went down tonight and had a great time, had a few drinks, watched the sun go down, had some yummy chicken curry. the staff were very good. We watched the circus and it was very cool. Special thanks to Carl for being a wonder attentive waiter!

We thoroughly enjoy coming out on a Sunday, going for a swim or hiring a paddle board then having a drink or lunch. I try to avoid cruise ship days as the peaceful atmosphere isn't the same. Take cash as i don't think there was EFTPOS paying methods, or they were down when we were there.

Being a resident here for over 2 years what in the heck has happened to this place, went today, no service menu crap, much better when sky was the manager, no manager around to complain too, just awefull, I used to enjoy my weekends at the beach bar but no longer is that going to happen, why haven't you got staff to serve you, seems to me that you fire off all your staff in the slow season which is ridiculous, rest assured you won't get any rave reviews from me for anybody else to come there.

Wow Sandra, did you have a bad day or something? I'm not sure if we are supposed to take this review seriously. We have employed two new full time managers and I know they have not had a day off in nearly 2 months. We now have far more managerial supervision during opening hours than ever before. Obviously there are times when they are off site for small periods of time but these are rare and if they were not available to help you out you must have come during one of these rare times. We also have the highest staff ratio of any similar business in Vanuatu and even though it is the quiet season, we have made a conscious decision not to reduce staffing at all and wear the extra cost. Having said this you would know as a resident here that especially when it is quiet the local people can go into "island mode" even more than usual. If this is what happened then we need to know so we can remind them that we are a service industry and whether it is one customer or twenty , service needs to be of a high standard.
As for your comment about the menu, it has not changed in the 2 years you have been here which is why I am not sure if this is a serious critique or possibly just a bit of a vent after a bad day. We appreciate that you have chosen to come to the Beach Bar regularly and thank you for that, so if you really feel that your experience was that bad , please come and have chat so we can put it right.
