“Great Location”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

Great location on the waterfront, with undercover seating or in the open. Menu selection is good and smoothies excellent.

“Great drinks!”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

The drinks here are amazing - very fresh and if you go around 4-5pm you have a great view of the harbour and sunset that makes the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. The food was ok, but we ordered the bruschetta, dips and bread and vegetarian Pie. The bruschetta had too much cheese on it for us to enjoy it. But nevertheless the drinks are a must have and perfect for a day out after visiting the local markets!

“Great ambience and good range of food”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

First impression was that it was not one cafe but several and I don't recall any signage at all. The only indication I recall that it was the Nambawan was the menu on some of the table. It was exactly the sort of place you stumble across as it doesn't standout. The location and ambience is great - beside the water and market stalls. I was there for the diving with Big Blue next door and had a great good value lunch. Other visits were to escape hustle bustle of main shopping street and have juice/smoothy (incredible range to choose from) etc in the cool under their undercover seating area. Only place in town I felt there were lots of regulars/locals. Good value all round.

“Cute and cheap”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

This is an open style cafe. You sit at picnic tables looking out over the bay and get to see the hustle and bustle out on the water. It is located at the end of the waterfront craft markets and makes a nice spot to stop for lunch. There are 4 or 5 individual 'sections' of the cafe, a smoothie and juice option, glassfront cabinet with food options and a pizza option etc. We chose a couple of smoothies which were great and a sausage roll and pizza and a salad. The sausage roll was very similar to home and obviously handmade. The pasta salad and corn was very fresh and was a big serve. The highlight was the pizza, the Australian owner said he had just put this on the menu a few days before and it was a good choice. It was a mango, bacon, bbq sauce and caper and onion pizza. Mmmm was good, I have put a photo up. Highly recommend. Remember that you can smoke here whilst eating.

“Great slice of vanuatu”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

The food is amazing, the staff is wonderful, and the view is fantastic! Located right on the waterfront with convenient shopping and a beautiful walk before/after you dine, Nambawan is not to be missed. Movie nights on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday are great and the only place in town to watch one.
To top it all off, the Australian owner is a great guy and has really made a point to treat his entirely local staff well and improve their skills. Don't expect to see him around too much because he's done such a good job that it's almost entirely run by his competent staff.
