Caraid Sunset Day Cruise
Reviewed April 30, 2014

Spending a couple of hours during a mid-week evening on board the Caraid was fantastic. We were lucky with the bookings a it was not a full shipload and there was plenty of room to move around the boat and enjoy the views of Mele Harbour and beyond. You will be given three pegs when you board the ship, don't loose these as these are your drink vouchers for the night :),cheese and wines supplied on the cruise were lovely, your first three drinks will cost you a peg each time and after that you will be rendered peg-less and then it is time for the wallet.Try to book on a day with a clear sky and you will not be dissapionted by the views on hand. All in all for a great evening out book a night on the Caraid.

Today my mate and i did the 1/2 day meridian snorkel cruise. The day looked great with lots of sun around! No sooner had we set off, the sky opened and absolutely pelted down. It rained for pretty much the whole 30-40mins it took us to get to paradise cove. luckily there was plenty of covered area for the eight of us on the cruise. the staff were very friendly and appeared to be having just as much fun as the rest of us!

it was still raining lightly when we arrived but we took the plunge and were rewarded with lovely warm water - much warmer than we had been on the boat.

Paradise Cove looks lovely. there is plenty to see and one of the crew who was snorkelling with us pointed our several stingrays for us. they also feed the fish bread which ensures that you have plenty of fish to snorkel with. we also saw several clams and a beautiful assortment of fish. clownfish protecting their anemones, both large and small varieties of tropical fish! they also provide a couple of kayaks if you want to have a paddle around. also if you just want to chill out there is a strip of beach you can relax on.

once we all came back on board we had morning tea consisting of tea/coffee biscuits and fruit. after morning tea we headed back, which was a lovely cruise home. I would highly recommend this tour. i have previously done both the congoola day cruise and the lelapa island day cruise. i thought that the meridian one was the perfect amount of time and only including what i wanted - short cruise, snorkelling and refreshments.

also i think the 3500vt price tag is VERY reasonable. most day full day cruises are much more than double that. you can purchase beer/wine/champers and juice.

This cruise was fantastic and great value for money. There were 3 drinks included and a range of finger food, from sandwiches to dip to cheese and meatballs. the cruise sails around not to far out of the port, none of us got seasick, as the water was quite still. The views are lovely and when the sun sets the beautiful colours on the horizon were just amazing. There was a really great vibe to the cruise, the staff were all friendly. we would have loved to have done this for a second time, would highly recommend if you would like a chilled out evening with great views, perfect for a couple.

We took both the half day morning cruise and the sunset cruise and really enjoyed both. Lily and the crew were extremely friendly, helpful and had a laugh with us.
I am not an experienced snorkeller but enjoyed myself, got to see heaps of different fish, all swimming around me. Had plenty of time to play around and enjoy the lovely water and relaxing beach location.
The sunset cruise again was great, lots of nibblies to eat, wine, beer, music and relaxing, scenic cruise.
Highly recommended.

We took a half day (morning) cruise around to Paradise Cove where the skipper has access to a lovely beach and great snorkelling. While the coral is pretty worn out, the fish are many, varied and wonderful, and they literally nibble at your fingertips, The boat was clean and well maintained and the crew professional. I chatted to the skipper a bit and enjoyed the conversation. The morning tea (fresh fruit, biscuits, coffee/tea) was great. The six adults and six kids (9 - 12 years) all loved the cruise and swim/snorkel. Highly recommended!
