We have been to Vanuatu 6 times, twice in 2 years and Pandanus has been the best accommodation we have been lucky enough to stay in so far. Our kids are 4 and 8 and the pool was well used during our 2 week stay. The apartments are very spacious, modern and well maintained. The photos on the website do not do justice to the beautiful rooms and surroundings. James and Claudine are the perfect hosts, from the time we made our first enquiry to even when we returned home and found our son had left his birthday present behind! They went out of their way to purchase another one and send it to us. Couldn't have asked for more.
Pango is a little way out of Vila but this is what we prefer and hired a car for the duration of the stay. The roads are not great but this is normal whenever you leave the main roads on Efate. We enjoy driving around the island finding beautiful beaches and great spots for lunch. James & Claudine were so helpful in giving advice for lovely places to visit. One is the Wahoo Bar on Havannah Harbour. Great food and enjoyed a snorkel after lunch just outside the restaurant. Other great lunch and play spots are Tamanu on the Beach (the kids can play on the beach outside, within view) Aquana Beach Resort (great food and warm hospitality) and The Summit in Mele is nice to visit for fantastic views and lovely lunch. Or take a picnic and visit a beach at Eton or nearby. The esky in our room was a great idea and well used.
It was good to return to our apartment which was kept spotlessly clean by the wonderful ladies each day. As the days were so busy, our kids would be so tired, it was good to relax and cook a quick meal at home each night, either inside or on the BBQ outside. There are lots of places to shop and buy good food to cook. It was lovely to hear the water lapping on the beach each night as we fell asleep. The view from the apartments is gorgeous over the well maintained gardens to the sea only steps away. Staying close to the villages and hearing kids playing or seeing locals go about their daily tasks makes you feel a little more a part of this beautiful country and can only enhance the experience. I can only hope we can return again. Soon....

Room Tip: Downstairs room have direct access to beach, pool. One has a low fenced courtyard suitable for toddlers.

Our stay was lovely, the apartments are beautiful, large and well kept. The apartments are a little out of town, but this is very much compensated by the beautiful setting. The owners are very helpful and can arrange anything from massage to a nanny at short notice. I would love to go back!

The apartments are very clean and furnished well although we noticed curtains are looking little worn. A very comfortable and spacious apartment. It was disappointing that the air conditioners are really noisey, difficult to get hot water for a shower and our dishwasher didn't work. Would we return - no. We were located next to the local village so there was smoke from fires, screaming kids and barking dogs! Pity as it is a lovely spot

Room Tip: If you stay ask to stay upstairs, furthest away from the local village

Stayed here in July and can't say enough...great views, well appointed, great service, friendly hosts in James and Claudine, nothing was too hard for the hosts or the cleaning ladies. The little touches mean a lot, local fruit and flowers decorated the table, the rooms were serviced daily, Claudine arranged a massage for us and both she and James were always happy to help.

Recently stayed at Pandanus Bay, the apartments are very well appointed and exceptionally clean. The cleaning ladies are fantastic and everyday on our return from exploring we returned to a totally clean apartment. Jeremy the owner is very helpful and friendly and went out of his way to replace the broken TV which is not easy in Vanuatu. A great place to stay with a large group or a family.
Snorkeling out the front is quite good, you need to get yourself over the drop off to be rewarded, head left up the reef as there is better fish there. It is easier to go at low tide as you can walk to the drop off and only need to swim about 10 meters, at high tide it is a 150m swim. No need for fins as there is no current but reef shoes are an essential.

The location is a little far out of town but being out by the locals is fantastic, there was always friendly people around to offer advice on here to go and have a chat about their lives. If you stay here please make a visit to Pango daycare just up the road, they receive no funding and rely on visitors to donate toys or sports equipment. A small donation to the day care is received with huge thanks and you will leave feeling just a little better about yourself.

Room Tip: All the apartments are the same size, Units 2,4,5,7 are closer to the pool so maybe a little nosier than the rest.
