Description: Enjoy our open air dining surrounded by stylish Melanesian decor and cool breezes from the lagoon. Whether it is a romantic night out, a special occasion or a group of friends, we can ensure you have a wonderful and fun night with fantastic dining. Suspended over the water's edge, Sunset Bungalows Bungalow:Ate Restaurant offers breath taking views of the lagoon and the tropical fish that linger around the deck. These fish are particularly plentiful in the evenings as they are drawn in by the atmospheric flood lights that wash over the surface of the water.

Great views of the lagoon, under cover, so protected from the rain. Service is great and friendly and food matches the service. It's bout 10 minutes from the heart of Vila. It's worth a stop in for a meal. Food is great for the climate sitting outside undercover with fans

We stayed at Sunset Bungalows and ate at their restaurant on our first night there. We had chicken parm & steak (about 2700vt per dish). Overpriced for what was a pub meal at best. Chicken parm tasted like it was fried in 3 day old palm oil. Served with mash and some salad. Not worth the price. We also sampled from the snack menu the 'buffalo' wings (1,109vt for 5 tiny bits!) and beef skewers (1000vt for 5). Wings were tiny but flavour was nice. Beef skewers similarly were nice in flavour but had a fair bit of gristle. The breakfasts there (which were complimentary with our stay) were great! Though in the omelet if you had cheese & ham you had to pay extra just for onions, tomato or mushroom (tinned). Pretty expensive here for average food.

We recently stayed at Sunset Bungalows and ate at the restaurant on two occasions - the first time on our first night and then on our last night. In between we tried other restaurants which are rated higher than Bungalow: Ate on this website. The others were extremely disappointing and overpriced and poor quality compared to Ate. The coconut crab especially was delicious and great value - up to 30% cheaper than other restaurants. The food was served in a timely manner by extremely friendly staff and nicely presented. Would recommend this restaurant to all ages - relaxing, great location, friendly staff, outstanding value, delicious and good choice of dishes.

Like 90% of the places in Port Vila this place aims at catering to middle aged Australian and New Zealand tourists who are not excatly after a gastonomic experience. Hence the food is fairly bland. It is well prepared, there is a good range and the taste is fine, it just lacks flavour for people who are use to eating fushion food or spicy food. They did have a good indian style curry as an option and the steak was good but dont go expecting anything special.

The location is amazing, the staff are really fantastic and the price is ok. It is definitely better than other places but it has a long way to go in how creative and flavoursome the food is to be a really good restaurant.

Meals at bungalow Ate are first class. Staff will go out of their way to meet your requests. This is a relaxed restaurant with the friendliest of staff!!
A good variety of food is served...if its not on the menu just ask.
Happy hour is between 5 - 7pm with a good variety of specialty cocktails served.
The outdoor style dining with a view over the lagoon is stunning.
A must do experience!
