“Unedible food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014 via mobile

We went there for a family dinner while we were holidaying in port Vila. The food was s**t. Worst pizza I have ever eaten. Who would put tasty cheese on a pizza rather than the normal mozzarella. Completely ruined the flavor. The salt and pepper shakers were old and crappy and when I asked for the dressing for my salad (which was a pile of lettuce) I was given a large bowl of vinegar. Not salad dressing. The service was also crap. There was an old guy walking around with a pony tail. Maybe he was the owner. We asked 3 times for a sprite. Never will we eat there again or even recommend it unless you like to eat s**t

“Unfortunately we didn't even get to order!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

Tried four times to have our order taken but it would appear that the owner/Maitre'd was the only person allowed to take our order?

Certainly looking as though it's far past it's hey day and given the other reviews here, it would seem the food was not worth hanging around any longer for!

“This is where you can find, without a doubt the best steak in the Pacific”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

The title of the review says it all.

I really love restaurants where the staff have been there ages and know the menu, the staff all are super friendly and helpful, the owner comes and talks to you and the focus is on the food, the food and the food. This is all of these things.

Oh and it has the best steak in the Pacific. Without a doubt. Enjoy. Oh and Jean-Pierre the head waiter will try and get you to have flying fox. Go for it!

Ps it is not everyday that you get served by Miss Vanuatu who is the daughter of the owner!

“Classic French”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

This 40-year old restaurant looks like a saloon but charms once you're inside. It's credited as the place Vanuatu's independence was born. Coconut crab bisque & garlic snails are both must-haves. The signature flying fox in rich red wine might be an acquired taste however. Loved the prawn & mushroom gratin before putting my mouth back together with a creamy meringue, ice cream & chocolate sauce sundae. Live singer & Miss Vanuatu as maitre de made my night even more special. Win!
