“Go towards closing time and get a discount”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

Nice french pastries for a price! But we went close to closing time and we got two for the price of one. Not sure if this is a regular thing or she was just being nice to us.

“An absolute must for anyone that LOVES French pats tries”
Reviewed December 7, 2013 via mobile

Much like everything in port Vila, it's not particularly cheap (just under Australian prices) but everything we had there was of a quality I haven't come across since actually being in France. It's right in the heart of the main drag so a perfect spot to stop for a quick pastry and coffee.
All the food was good (with some slightly odd combinations like a batard - a long roll - with chicken, corn, lettuce and beetroot) but the pastries were amazing. The best croissants, fabulous tarts and the most delicious chocolate mousse like thing. Also, it has a toilet, just the one unisex and just off the coffee making area, but it's a toilet.
And, at the end of the day, they sell off the left over pastries at half price. I bought a bag of four enormous, flaky, buttery croissants for about $5 and they were fabulous. I also bought a bag of pastry biscuit things (palmiers?) which were better than most other biscuits I've had.
Go, eat big and try to forget about the fact that a proper croissant pastry is 50/50 pastry to butter.

“Amazing cakes!”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

We only had two takeaway cakes from Au Peche Mignon but they were absolutely divine! Absolute works of art and delicious. Unfortunately we didn't get back during our holiday. Do yourself a favour and don't miss a sweet treat at this cafe.

“Amazing pastry”

The food was superior quality and a real treat. We loved the quiches and chocolate crossaints and other treats as we went there multiple times!

“"Good Coffee - Food Disappointing"”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Have now visited this cafe a number of times, mainly for convenience. Whilst it is a good little place to spend a few minutes having a coffee and watching the busy traffic in town. I have found the food especially baguettes to be dry and tasteless and pastries very ordinary. Not sure why so many glowing reviews on the food as my colleagues have also found the same.
