My husband and I decided to try Chill after seeing that they offered lunch specials for 1200 VT, and we were not disappointed. My husband ordered the steak with a side of mashed potatoes, while I had the Vietnamese prawn skewers with a side of rice. We swapped bites of each other's lunch, and while I preferred the steak and mash to what I'd ordered, the prawn skewers and rice were still good. The serves were just the right size and the price included a drink.
While we were eating, we noticed that the couple at the next table were sharing a very tempting-looking pizza, which turned out to be the "Crabby Day" (crab, prawns, pineapple, capsicum, and black olives). On our last night in Port Vila, we ordered a medium Crabby Day along with a small "Vila Big Deala" (similar to a supreme) to take away. It was enough food to feed us for dinner that night as well as a quick lunch the next day before we departed for the airport.
The staff made us feel very welcome on both visits, and while we were waiting for our takeaway pizzas, we were ushered to the bar and given complimentary drinks. When we left with our pizza, the staff member on the cash desk couldn't open the door for us fast enough. Restaurant staff in Australia would do well to take a leaf out of Chill's book.
