Island Magic Resort

Island Magic Resort is outstanding.

If you wish to stay in a large brand name luxury resort with a range of magificent pools, restaurants, facilities (and expenses) attached to a lovely beach/lagoon/river, that when you look around from your deck chair past all the other guests could really be any where in the world, then Island majic Resort is not for you.

Island Magic Resort has 15 fully self contained bungalows at exceptional value. The bungalows are not luxurious but they are perfect. All are fully appointed for self catering. All have views ample living area and a spacious deck. Exceptionally each bedroom has its own ensuit. No fighting with the children or dancing for a shower/toilet if sharing with another couple.

Island Magic Resort is not located in town (so you will need to arrangr public transport to and from or hire a car. This is the only minor negative for IMR. Travel time less than 10 minutes). Island Magic Resort is not located in town or on the Lagoon so no noise, no hustle and bustle and a constant cool breeze which strips the humidity away. Nestled between ocean and Jungle back drop you always know that you are in Vanuatu. IMR is also near the crystal falls, horse riding, hideaway island and kayak rental/zorbing so is centrally located for exploring Port Villa attractions.

A small pool, clean grounds of grass and gardens, decking over the ocean, hammocks, a fresh water garden shower, great management staff are many of the other positives but if you need only one resaon to stay at Island Magic Resort it is the pristine coral reef at the end of the jetty.

We spent hours every day snorkelling. The coral reef is teaming with hundreds of fish variety and is composed of hard, soft, plate, staghorn, brain etc coral. Truely magic.

Great 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom "bungalows", plenty of room, very clean & everything you need. Good snorkelling reef off the jetty. Not too far out of town, but far enough to feel like your the only ones on the island. Helpful staff who can organise trips, and buses into town etc. Great relaxing holiday.

After reading quite a few disappointing reviews for resort accommodation in the Pacifics (Fiji and Vanuatu) in our price range, up to AU$5,000 for just over a week ex Melbourne the Island Magic Resort caught our attention. We wanted the possibility to cook for our self’s for some meals but have the convenience of a resort style restaurant only 5 min walk up the road.
The resort managers and staff did everything they could to make our 9-days stay absolutely fantastic.
We got help with organizing trips, babysitting and great tips on what to do.
The only drawback if you travel with children is that there is no beach at the resort but a jetty and reef well worth snorkeling if you are in to that.

Resort.
The area is well kept by staff and the bungalows are positioned to give you a little bit of privacy.

Bungalows.
Roomy two bedroom bungalows with two full bathrooms. Large kitchen and living area.
The bungalows are near brand new and built to high standards. Kitchen is fully equipped even for the culinary interested, only thing we brought was a proper chef’s knife but we always do this.
It had a large deck with views over the ocean and seating for 4 around a table.

Pool.
Quite small but it has a bbg hut and the area is kept tidy and clean. Only meters from the ocean.

Beach.
No beach to talk about. The jetty is great to jump from and the reef is OK to snorkel.

A bus in to Port Vila is about 400 Vatu p/p and takes about 10-15 min.

We had a great stay and would not hesitate to come back or recommend this place to a friend

This was just perfect,it was quiet, clean and everthing we wanted, we even got to pick our own fresh fruit each day. The managers were great , they went out of their way to look after us nothing was a problem for them. Their staff were the friendliest and showed us what true Vanuatu hospitality is they even looked after us on their day off ,no where else does that for you..We ended up extending our stay the place was that good, the fish off the private jetty were the best we saw. I would definetly recomend this place its all new and beautifully maintained.

We had 12 nights Aug Sept 09, in this well appointed resort. The staff are proffessional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The units would be best equipped we have stayed in and well designed for privacy and comfort. The 2 bedroom villas with the two ensuites are very suitable for two couples or family. The manicured grounds and the cleanliness of the units could not be faulted. We will certainly return before long.

My wife and I joined 15 others for a good mates wedding. We are Canadians who have lived in Canada most of our lives, a year in Mexico, and the last 6 years in Wellington New Zealand. We have been on numerous holidays to Mexico, Europe, Cuba, Virgin Islands, Australia, United States and stayed (and worked) at numerous resorts throughout the world.

Island Magic was stunning, spotless, and in a beautiful location on the ocean's edge. To their credit one of Island Magic's biggest selling features are their outgoing, friendly staff. It is not a large staff, they are constantly doing their chores keeping the facility operating beautifully. What I liked about the staff was that when you did have a question, or needed help in any way, they were quick to jump in and help in any way they could.

Also there is a large central barbeque area/kitchenette that doubled most of the week as our meeting area for the wedding party. It was nice to have a central area for guests to meet at while still having your cabin for your quiet time. These facilities are meant for everyones use. Be it a planned family dinner or an impromptu party, this area is ideal.

As for the bungalows they are bright, clean, spacious units all positioned with front decks that face the ocean. What's great is while sitting on your deck enjoying the day know one else has there deck looking at you, you don't feel squeezed in or cramped anywhere on Island Magic.

Don't hesitate, its a lovely resort, on a lovely island, amongst some lovely people.

My husband and I travelled with our 2 yr old son and myparents in law.We had seperate bungalows.Ours was a 2 bed,2 bathroom bungalow -which was a godsend for not waking our son if we needed to go use a bathroom! Both bedrooms had ensuites-rooms spacious and what a well equipped kitchen-it had everything from champagne glasses ,flashlight, alfoil, salt and pepper etc.
There is no restaraunt onsite, but a great kitchen in all bungalows and a fantastic communal BBQ hut.Initially I was concerned with no pool fence but this was not an issue at all with our toddler.
There is a great jetty with stunning snorkelling right there, looking towards Hideaway Island.
Both Jane and David went out of their way for our family and were excellent hosts-thank you so much!
