Description: Visited here in 2010 for a fantastic seafood buffet dinner. Tried again in 2011 but in between me booking and the night I went, they had changed to a set menu. While cheaper at $100SOL per person, it was nothing fantastic with minimal topping on my pizza.

The dinner was average and the buffet would have been better skipped. The staff weren't particularly friendly either.

“Better food options elsewhere”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

I have a couple of meals from the restaurant inside the King Sol. Dissappointed with the qulaity especially with the pizza. The meals are expensive even for Honiara prices. Try the King Sol's cafe next door instead. There are definitely better restaurants at the other hotels for dinner

Breakfast is better, the hot meals rotate but can be sitting there a little too long. The tropical fruit selection is very good.

Susanne and Shane the owners are great and generous. Always make sure you are happy, quick to resolve any issues. Entertainment thur-sat. Rocks on a Friday night. The bamboo café has great coffee and jaffe the manager is friendly and keen to please. Rooms clean and comfortable

During a recent business trip to Honiara I stayed at the King Solomon Hotel. The rooms are reasonably priced and clean; nothing tremendous, but they do come with a small refrigerator, microwave, and electric tea kettle (although there was so much hard water sediment in mine, that it was unusable). The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The cable car to the rooms is fun, if a bit slow. The pizza is really good for the South Pacific, so try it. However, the Sunday night dinner of roast beef is horrible. I am not sure what cut of beef this was, but it was entirely inedible. The entertainment in the evenings is very, very, very, very loud; making it difficult to sleep if you have to be up and about the next morning.

“great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

We stayed at the King Solomon enroute to Tavanipupu. The room matched the price we paid we reckon. Not fancy but it was clean and all we needed. The cable car lift was a riot - we loved the quirkiness of that and infact chose the hotel because of that picture! We enjoyed lovely service, a perfectly OK dinner and a good rest ahead of our adventure to Tavani. We've heard that Friday and Saturday nights are not so quiet at the King Solomon and can fully imagine that. But for us, for a quick stop over, it did the trick.
