Review of Jellyfish Lake

This was on my bucket list, and I'm very glad I can cross it off now. It was a fantastic experience, something everyone should do at least once in a lifetime.

The lake is inland, 5 mins up then 5 mins down a steep hill, but the steps are safe and well-trodden. The lake is large enough that you can find a corner to stare at the jellyfish in wonder, without getting kicked by hordes of tourists.

The jellyfish were so beautiful, gently undulating in the green-ish water towards the sun. There were tiny ones, large ones, but they were all just so cute.

It was funny to see some "tour guides" dragging boogie boards around, with tourists in life vests holding on to the edges. I've never seen that anywhere.

What a cool place! Kinda crowded but so neat jellyfish are bouncing off of you everywhere! A bit of a hike to get to on some steep stairs, not too much for myself to handle but could be an issue for some.

The permits have gone up from $25 to $100 for ten days. There are other Jelly Fish Lakes in Palau. Only one is used.

Very unique to swim with stingless jellies. Didn't like some of the jerks who were thrashing around hitting the jellies needlessly. But that's tourism.

There's nowhere else in the world where you can float in a sea of thousands of harmless jellyfish. Highly recommended.
