“Great Location”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Since there is only a very limited number of taxis in Palau, it's of much help to stay at a central location. Close to supermarket and shops. We got nice seaview from our room. Spacious, clean and tidy. Yet food is average. Quite a number of counter staff can speak Putunghua, quite helpful. Palau is a great place to visit - amazing underwater world, the best snorkelling site that we have ever visited. Palasia provides a good base to marvel at all these natural wonders.

This is a very nice hotel in Koror, Palau. The staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. Our group of 8 arrived on the United flight from Guam ... somewhere around 9PM. The staff was prepared, had the reservations, told us about the rooms, and had keys already made. The room was clean and bright. I did have to learn that you inserted a room key card in the slot near the door in order to operate the electricity in the room. Must be a European thing.

The water in Palau was not fit to drink from the tap. However, every floor has filtered water, hot and cold at the end of the hallway.

Breakfast was included in our trip plans. It is apparent that this hotel caters to Asians. Every breakfast was rice, rice noodles, tofu, soups, etc. To be fair, they also had pancakes or french toast, some sort of meat (ham slices, bacon, or sausage), and cereals for those not inclined to eat rice for breakfast. Not much fruit though. And, the breakfast juices were some version of Tang.

The rooms were clean and nice. Due to the constancy of humidity, the wallpaper was starting to loosen in the seams. Otherwise, the room was very nice.

The maid service was quick and efficient.

Be careful getting into the pool. The top 2 steps have no texture in the concrete. I slipped and sprained an ankle and bunged up my knee.

Yes, I would go back. The scuba diving in Palau has to be one of top spots in the world!

Room Tip: We were on the sixth floor. It was above the major road in Palau, but very nice. Not too much road n...

Two things, why let everyone smoke in the lobby & why such terrible internet service?? The rooms are a good size, clean with a 90's look & feel. Hotel restaraunt serves good food, nice happy hour at the bar with super friendly staff. Considering the package deal rates, the value of this hotel was good. They need to get rid of the smoke & step into the here & now with the internet and updated interior design.

We have stayed at the hotel a number of times over the last few years. Each time the service from staff is great. We have between 8 and 15 customers and all have nothing but prase for this hotel. I will be staying there again.

Stayed there for a week for a recent dive trip in Palau. Here's our take on the hotel:

Pros
- Honest housekeeping. Similar to what was experienced by another reviewer, we accidentally left our safe unlock one morning. When we got back in the room, we found a note from the hotel staff reminding us to keep it lock when we're not in. Checked our monies etc and found everything was in order.

- Water pressure in the toilet is strong. It's always nice to have a strong, warm shower after a long dive trip. Toilet is clean. Was worried about sub-standard toilet, but luckily the toilet for this hotel is quite well kept.

- Location is good as it's situated right in town centre with plenty of eateries and convenient stores nearby.

- There's a decent gym in the hotel and also chinese style massage is available for USD25/hr.

Cons
- The bed is super soft. Gave me backache after a week of sleeping on it.

- Free internet available in lobby area, but it's slow, EXTREMELY slow. At night, you'll see many hotel guests hanging out in the lobby area trying to access the internet. This makes it even worst.

- TV channels are mainly in Chinese, not much to watch for those who don't understand Chinese.

Overall, for the good location & reasonable price, we don't mind staying there again. Hopefully they'll replace the mattress to something firmer in future.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road (non sea view rooms) have decent sound proof sliding door, so there's no i...

I have travel far and wide. This hotel probably has the most honest staff. My buddy and I had forgotten to closed our room safe when we were out for our full day diving. When we got back to the hotel, there was a note reminding us to remember to locked our safe. Between the two of us we have like US$1,500 in cash, a few credit cards, passport, and other currencies. There was not a cent was missing!!

There are not many large hotels to choose from in Koror.

This one is centrally located, close to supermarkets, convenience stores and the WCTC shopping centre. The decor is a bit '80's, a bit too pastel green and generally a bit tired. The rooms are decent sized but ours had a resident ant family keeping us company. During the night I could hear mice in the room but I didn't see them or find droppings so i won't claim to have witnessed any furry friends.

The breakfast is basic and buffet area can get crowded so get there earlier since most people have an 8am pick-up time. I didn't see anybody use the pool which is just as well as its not very appealing.

However, the staff are friendly and efficient enough, there is wifi, a bar and they give you day towels to take diving.

Beware of the restaurants nearby - they are spectacularly overpriced for what they are. Try the noodle and burger stalls nearby or speak to locals and find a more local or tourist-friendly restaurant a cab ride away.

There is a medical clinic nearby which could come in handy.

Room Tip: Half the rooms (curved side) face the main road and half (non curved side) face the open ocean.
