“A wonderful way to spent your afternoon.”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We decided to rent a car and see the big island, and this waterfall is one of the key sites recommended to visit. After 25 minutes of hiking down to the waterfall through the jungle, we were rewarded with wonderful scene. We did not waste any second to jump into cool waters. If you are fit enough, you should hike down instead of taking the monorail. There is a Zipline you can take but, when in nature just do the natural, walk.

“Nice hike & water falls!”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

We hiked our way to and back up from the falls, which is very do-able if you just bring water and comfy walkng shoes.

The waterfalls are a beautiful sight, but like said before: too undeep for swimming.
We enjoyed the trip very much. Entrance $10,-

There is an option to zipline your way down, but that's ridiculously overpriced, so we skipped that part of the fun.

There's also a little monorail 'train' you can take up and/or down. very nice for people that can't walk all that well or are a bit afraid of the hike back up, but again, a bit overpriced.
We did get offered a ride back up for $10,- after we were already down at the falls. A bit strange, as we were told we could only pre-book before hiking down and the ride back up would be $20,-.

“It is a must see”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

You can use the mono rail if you are disabled or out of shape, but for the most part anyone can make the trek up and down. The cost is 10 USD.

“Bit of a walk”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

We went to the falls and walked down and were so glad that there is a mono rail to bring you back up.

It is a steep climb up and not for an unfit person.

The falls are lovely but you really can't swim in it as it is too shallow but it is beautiful to see. We enjoyed the walk down and cooling off at the falls.

“some water falls, but a nice hike”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Here you can see the bad US influence. For some basically average water falls a small and very very basic amusement park was set up. A little railroad takes you down to the falls and back up.
The falls itself are not spectacluar. Nice, yes. Too bad you hardly can swim in the pool, because the water is very shallow.
