“Great room, good bed and what a view!”
Reviewed September 14, 2011

Just spent a week at SP and loved our room on the 5th floor. So many reviews I read who from those who expected a small island to be like home! loved it! ask for room 505. Sadly back to Canada now!

This hotel is a very strange place. It is located in a fantastic area especially if you are diving with Sam's Tours. (Literally a 2 minute drive around the corner or if the tide is high enough they pick you up by boat and again its about a 2 minute boat ride.)

However the hotel itself lacks in certain areas. My first concern was the fact that they use solar panels for the hot water and it was next to impossible to tell what kind of temperature yu would get from day to day. Some days it was so hot you could not stand under it and even turning up the cold water did nothing and only seemed to increase the heat. Then the next shower you would have there would be no hot water at all.

The beds were fine, not great but still very sleep able. The pillows were either from super soft or super hard.

The breakfast was a very funny experience. They often had lunch time dishes and a very average coffee. However the egg man was terrific so get an omelette of a morning. It was strange that the restaurant downstairs was not open for dinner and that only the Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor was open for dinner. The restaurant itself was good but when I went to order half the items i wanted were not available.

You defiantly have to have a Thai massage while you are there. My girlfriend and I had two 2 hour massages and they were unforgettable. You feel like you have been in a bar fight at the end of it but a bar fight but a very relaxing bar fight. These massages are not for the feint of heart.

If you can try and get ocean view because the mountain view is literally a mountain right in front of you. Not a view at all really.

One really great thing was that they gave me a 11pm late check out as my flight was at 2am in the morning so that was very nice of them. Not many hotels would do that.

If I went back to Palau I doubt that I would be staying there again. However I have not stayed anywhere else so I am not sure what the quality elsewhere is like.

Room Tip: Get acean view if you can

No real issues with this hotel, but there is a disconnect between the price and the value for money.
Our room was very comforable and well appointed, but Oh those pillows!!! from hell. I swear by all that is holy in the realm of a good nights sleep, why these stiff uncompromising balloons?
Now for breakfast...... Its ok by 2 or 3 star standards but that coffee was the pits! undrinkable swill is whatnit was....coffee lovers beware.
Overall I would go back, but I think there is better value for money in Koror

I just returned from an 8d/7n stay at the Sea Passion. I will keep it short and simple. My transfer was waiting at the airport for me which was a relief seeing I just spent the last 24 hours flying from the USA. Check in was effortless, 24 hour front desk was nice. The rooms were spacious and clean. The shower was huge. You could rinse all your scuba gear in there and let it dry. The grounds were spotless and very picturesque. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Nice little beach area. There is a sunk airplane right off the beach to snorkel. I only ate breakfast there and it was awesome. Excellent buffet. Across the street there is a little grocery store. And maybe 10 min walk there were a couple bars and places to eat. If you Scuba dive, you are within walking distance of Sams, Maml, and Neco.

PS.....Get a massage there. It was incredible! The girls there are wonderful.

Room Tip: Book a package deal with a scuba shop. Your breakfast buffet and lunch are included with your packag...

Mistake to stay at a cheaper place last, not the original plan. Over all Sea Passion was marginal compared to the price. A new hotel BUT parts of it was built several years before and due to lack of funds stopped and this shows. The sheets on the bed where the biggest problem, not the right size for the bed. The breakfasts were very average! Service was very slow. The beach is nice and clean but if your snorkling don't expect to see anything (except the Zero Plane) maybe this will improve in the future. One good point is the location, walking distance to Krammers and Sam's Tours.

Hotel of peculiar Chinese architecture, courteous and friendly Filipino staff, a destination resort for Japanese vacation families, lots of European and North American scuba divers, with a reasonably priced Japanese restaurant. Building design features lots of steps and tripping hazards, not at all ‘wheelchair friendly’. However, the place works, and works well. Buffet breakfast is a highlight - brownies and/or spaghetti and/or “kimchi”! Several ‘quik-e-marts’ and restaurants close by, the laundromat is a 7-minute walk. Paddling pool, small swimming pool, the artificial beach is raked/cleaned daily, the bay/lagoon is great for snorkelling (featuring the sunken wreck of a 1945 ‘Jake’ seaplane), and theoretically you can swim the 250m from the hotel to Sam’s Tours.

We stayed 2 weeks on the 5th floor in one of the "romantic", above average rooms. They had an extensive buffet breakfast with cooked to order eggs and omelets. Our room was large with a big balcony. It had a flat screen big TV and sitting area. The finishing work of the construction was not to the usual level of professionalism one is used to in a first class hotel. The fact that it was near a main road was out weighted by the beautiful lagoon views. The whole town of Roror has less that 20,000 people. The hotel is very convenient to Sam's Dive Shop, probably the biggest on Palau. Sam's provides continual shuttle service . Most hotel guests are scuba divers.
