“Good food, great prices”
Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

This was suggested to us by the hotel staff. We came back twice because the food was good and was priced reasonably. The fruit bat soup was at least $10 cheaper than most places. Sashimi for $7 was great. Tempura for $10 was also great although I think it's the Palauan version of the dish. You also get fruit for dessert.

“Lucky to have found Carp”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

We ate twice at Kramers, and loved it. We taxied over for a 3rd meal on a Sunday night only to discover they were closed. A local person pointed to some lights "around the corner" which was Carp. Yes, pink and green plastic gingham table coverings, but wow what a treat. The chuckle was the owner of Kramers and his 2 kids were eating there on their own night out. What else can you say! For $36 we had 2 beers, 2 huge orders of potstickers, the clam pancake, and the largest plate of yellowfin shashimi you can imagine ($8). OMG it was all so good. I was expecting the clam pancake to be like a crab cake, but it was more like a clam quiche. A big pie, with lots of veggies. We could only finish half. The potstickers are homemade, and absolutely the best I've ever had. But the headliner was the yellowfin. Here in Sacramento that plate would have easily run over $100 for that much fish. It was so fresh, thickly sliced...Can you imagine being so full you can't finish such wonderful food? Lots of other things to try, but I wasn't quite ready for bat soup. We were so happy we came upon this little place. Give it a try.

“Best Tofu In Town”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

Carp is another favorite establishment frequented by the locals. I do not believe the menu has changed in decades and and the atmosphere is rustic. They have an outside vegetable garden, which I believe is used solely for their cooking. I love its authenticity.

The restaurant makes their own tofu and it is excellent. Try the vegetable stir fry with tofu and the chilled tofu with bonita shavings. The portions are generous and good value.

“Great Local Place”
Reviewed March 31, 2012

Some fellow travellers recommened Carp. It is in an out of the way spot next to a dive shop. It is a fairly small place with plastic gingham table clothes. The food was excellent and plentiful. We ordered two of the mangrove crab dinners for four of us and there was tons of food including a huge plate of super fresh sasihimi in addition to the crab.

This is a fun place to experience a more casual, local atmosphere and have some fresh seafood.
